We are thinking of Universal as well, since Disney has become rather unpalatable in recent years. Haven’t been to Univeral in 30 years or so.
My friend at work said he stayed at one of their premium hotels and got an express pass, and said it was well worth it. Apparently it’s like Disney fast pass before they ruined it.

Question for you. What’s the best time to go off season? We homeschool our kids so we can go any time of the year. We hate the heat, so cold months are fine too.
