can you guys explain the appeal of slot machines outside of a casino?
is it fun to play slots when there's no payoff? or are they just for decoration?

Yes, with some help. Check out Dalek Asylum, it’s a Maker Space in Milwaukee. They have a goal of gathering the most Daleks ever. Project Dalek is another site for Dalek builders.

As far as the airplanes, I started a thread with a few pictures here:
    https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/model-aviation

Pinball and arcade machines kicked out the airplanes. They have their own room.

I’m a bit of an autograph and prop collector, so I picked up a couple of items from the movie Pixels for the gameroom.

DARPA Centipede Cannon and a cast signed photo.

I would have thought they would be common in Australia.
I bought it back around 1998 as a Xmas gift for my brother but decided to keep it and gave him something else instead.

    I think it was $95.

I scored these 4 neons about a month ago. Got them for free after a local bar closed.
The miller lite needs to be repaired.
Looks like one of the 2 transformers is bad. It and the blue moon are pretty large at almost 2-1/2 ft tall.
I attached a pic of how it will look when fully operational.

I recently picked up This 1950’s $0.05 candy machine. Plan to stock it up with candy and leave a bunch of nickels on it for when we have parties. Let the kids grab whatever they want. Thought it would be kind of fun! Now I’m just waiting until we are allowed to have get togethers again.

I have a piece of carpet from the Atlanta Marriot Marquis as probably my strangest thing in my game room. It's one of the five host hotels of Dragoncon, and really one of the coolest buildings in the USA.
The carpet has a strange history with the convention. Google Cult of the Marriot Carpet for some fun. Glad I have a piece.
And if you are an architecture fan google the hotel and other hotels by Mr Portman.

    It actually has an arm
That lowers and scraps the bowl every 15 vends , but you just undo 3 wingnuts and the bowl Comes out and I clean it with hot water and dry . Takes about 10 mins total. It has a hopper in the back that I fill with cotton candy mix . When you push start the element heats up drops in the right amount and makes the best cotton candy . I’ll shoot a video so you can see how it works . The thing is a big hit at parties .

Keeps stuff cold, works well. Careful installing the handle - be gentle and you'll be fine.
Too easy to strip the handle studs

    Very, very cool ball washer!
Love to know the back story ...

I bought the ballwasher about 8 years ago while at the 3M Championship with my wife. It is signed by 13 of the “super seniors” attending the tournament. My father had passed away just a month before. I had played golf with him since I was 3. The autographs were people he watched play golf during their careers in the 60s and 70s. So i bought it in memory of him. Surprisingly it was my wife that pushed me to actually do it.
