I was leaning toward buying the NIB IM VE but now thinking HUO may be a better bet- at least you can examine and test it. Even if it affects only 1% of machines, why does anyone have to deal with this when buying new.

Well, it's cost them one here. I really wanted the IM VE and was going to buy NIB. The whole purpose of me buying NIB is not having to deal with crap. It's probably just safer to wait and buy HUO a few months from now and let someone else deal with an issue. This is Stern's 3rd release of the same game and theyve crushed the secondary market, so it's not an appreciation risk for me.
