We are currently working on a new batch, will be ready around 8 Oktober.
The last ones will be send end this week.
Will let you know when they are ready again

We are sorry, we didn't have time past weeks to make new ones. Very busy with a new movie project. Please be patient, I will post here if some new ones are available again.

Quoted from georgio:

There should not be any foam spacers. This is probably done by the previous owner to prevent impact damage on the brose plastic of the trunk, to let is last a month longer or so.

Thanks, I'll remove it then.

#353 6 years ago
Quoted from georgio:

I don't understand the problem. The light should not be sticking out, but in the trunk behind the hole. Also if that is the case, there should not be a bolt peaking out or something.
Please attach a photo, so I or other members can look at this.

I believe he is referring to the mounting screw head on the angle bracket that the socket is riveted to. Its a cap head screw. It should be a flat low profile. I used a countersink screw then removed some to material so it would sit flush against the bracket. Its an issue with the machine not the trunk.

Quoted from GimpMaster:

Hey guys, I received my trunk. As I was putting it on I noticed some foam spacers on the trunk metal. Are these supposed to be here? It bows out the trunk. Just curious what your thoughts are.

Is it the picture or is the paint job bad on your trunk?

Here are photos. You will see that the trunk if puffing out due to the screw that holds the bulbs assembly in place.

Wauw, sure the nut is the problem? Anyone else with the same problem? You must have had a bigger problem with no flexible trunks, because they don't compensate. How was that? The shape is exactly the same as the original. There is some space between the bracket and trunk side, that must be enough. I tested a bunch of trunks on different toms and didn't came across this. What happens if you remove the trunk mounting screws? Is it gone away then? I have seen this with screws mounted next to the thread, so one side of the trunk is lifted.

#357 6 years ago

I looked again at your picture, you already had the screws removed, but why is your trunk so shifted? It is not straight in line with the magnet plate. Wish I could touch it from here and fix it for you. Must be something wrong and different from other trunks

If you can put the lamp bracket to the inside of the trunk the bolt head will fit a little closer. Also can you use a pop rivit instead of the screw?

I took the screw out, and even remove the light, and still it was the same issue. After inspecting closer, the trunk itself has one side much thicker than the other three sides, and this is why it is not sitting flush.

No that can't be the problem, they all have one side thicker than the others, the original does too. It's coming out of the same mold. They cannot vary in size, than the dots on top would vary in size too. They are all exactly the same. Everyone should have had this problem when it's the cause of one side is thicker. Thinking.......

The side of the trunk where the light goes is MUCH thicker than my stock trunk. See here:

And here is another pic from the previous page that someone else posted. Clearly that side is thinner:

Damien, the outer side is always the same. The inner side can vary from 0,5 to 1mm because of the inner plug which goes into the mold. But the side with the light is always thicker because of the original combination of trunk and plug we have got. I have them all fit on my TOM before sending.
Ofcourse we want to solve this problem for you. This weekend we wil have a new batch ready to paint. I will look for the closest one that looks like and match your trunk and put in in my TOM and show you the picture. If this will bend like your picture I certainly send you a new one if the trunk is the problem.

Thst doesnt fit properly at all.
I agree it would have to be, that the one side of the trunk is way too thick (1/4" is too thick imho...), and causing it to be warped upon assembly.

Yup, it's definitely too thick, and not going to fit on any TOM in my opinion.

Georgio, I'd definitely appreciate you resolving this for me. Even though I think I got abad one, I can see from the details that you do fine work! If you can send a replacement, I'd greatly appreciate it.

On post #248 I posted that I wanted a trunk. Damien was post #238 and received his trunk, although having issues. Will I being getting a trunk in the next batch you make?

#368 6 years ago

How do we order? I sent a PM maybe a month ago but never heard anything.

#369 6 years ago

If you want a trunk, you can mail us at [email protected]. I will reply when we have some new Trunks ready.
The issue with damien will be checked today on two tom brackets with a Trunk with an even thicker wall.

#370 6 years ago

Damien,

I have made one of the thickest Trunks this morning. It fits without problems like al the trunks I made did. I measured the outer bracket width, this is 83mm. Even with the thickness of this Trunk, the inner side of the trunk is almost 90mm.
So there is 3mm free space on both sides between the bracket and the Trunk.
Can you measure the width of your bracket and also the inner width of your Trunk for me?

Good news and bad news....

The good news is that we now are permitted to make this part by the official Bally Williams licensee! We can make these trunks without breaking copyright rules and will not have problems that we are forced to stop making these trunks.
This way we support making good pinball parts in the market. There are more parts to come from us and this way we open the future cooperation.

The bad news is that the trunks will cost some more, but it will be a reasonable amount. I hope you all will understand that I wanted to save these product for not being taking of the market and many TOM owners can enjoy this.

And now I'm going to work on the new batch!

Mine looks like it's double the thickness of the photo you attached.

I'm seeing if I can find someone locally to test it with, otherwise I'll get back to you about an exchange/return.

Thanks.

Please measure your bracket, just to be sure that this is not the problem. I'm curious for that size, because the size of the inner plug is constantly the same, only a bit shifting from left to right. I have seen some light skewed sides, but that was fixed with the lampholder mounted inside instead of outside. As some said here, the trouble was the head of the bolt peaking out of the bracket.
If you say that with the lamp holder completely taken off and still have this problem, your bracket must be 5mm bigger than the normal ones. Can you shift the trunk some mm from left to right? if you force it to the right is the problem gone? In that case you can use a drill and make the holes in top of the trunk a bit bigger to the left. Many possibilities to solve this issue, but you have to give more information. I have nothing on the information that this one is thicker than that one etc. They all differ somehow because of the placement of the plug in a dark vacuum container.

Could be the 4 hex stand offs aren’t straight causing the trunk to twist ?

That would be fixed with shift drilling the holes somehow

Can anyone post up any reviews after some play time?

#378 6 years ago
Quoted from FatPanda:

Can anyone post up any reviews after some play time?

I have about 300 games on my machine since adding the trunk. No issues at all.

No chipping paint, cracking, or breakage. The ball hits off the trunk a bit differently, but it’s not a big deal to me.

Each of the two standard trunks I owned was damaged within 100 plays, so this is a major improvement.

Everyone on the waiting list has received an email that the new batch is ready for orders and shipping. If there are some left in a week, I let you know here.

#383 6 years ago

Delighted with my new trunk fits perfectly and looks just as it should. Very quick delivery to UK. So pleased! Thanks Georgio.

#384 6 years ago

Thank you! This is exactly why we love to make these. Pleased people who never have to change the trunk again!

#385 6 years ago

I got one of these with a game I just bought but it's out of shape. The owner said I could soak it in warm water and re-shape it back to square. Is that true? Thanks.

#386 6 years ago

The unbreakable trunk out of shape? You're sure its our rubber trunk? Thats impossible.. heating will do nothing also.
what is exactly out of shape?

#387 6 years ago

Not totally sure. Here's some pics of it...after reading the whole thread it's probably not one of yours. I just got the game so I'm not that familiar with the parts. But it looks like I may be ordering one for it from you!

#389 6 years ago

#392 6 years ago

When you do your next run at Christmas can you put me down for 2 black ones please. I like the red btw!

#393 6 years ago

Would like one as well for my new ToM

#394 6 years ago

I'd love one also for my TOM.

#395 6 years ago

I would also be in for one. Blue/gold

#396 6 years ago

I'm in. Sent an email to [email protected] to be put down for an Original Black-Gold and possibly Red and Purple. Are there pictures of the Purple anywhere?

#398 6 years ago

If you can do the red put me down for one. They look great.

#399 6 years ago

Purple?? Mmmm! Maybe......

#400 6 years ago

I thought you mentioned purple somewhere. I misread it.

Quoted from georgio:

We are going to make 4 variations:
- Original Black-Gold
- Black-Silver
- Bordeaux Red-Gold
- Purple Blue-Gold
Pictures of the first color variations will appear soon.
Price will be 75 euro for one Trunk and 140 euro for a Double Trunk Combo.
I will look for an option to send many trunks at once to the USA to save on shipping costs. If I find someone to resend it in the USA you will only pay the local USA shipping costs. Otherwise it's 30 euro shipping to the USA to one address.
Europe shipping is around 10 euro. Once the first are produced I will contact by PM in order of the posts in this thread and send you the total price.
