Made some new yesterday and today

I did not place my order as I canceled my PayPal account due to fraud. Georgio and I were e-mailing back and forth last weekend trying for a work around. Bit of a language barrier . Georgio I will open a new PayPal account I suppose . Then cancel it after our transaction is completed . I have owned my TOM since 1998 . I want the everlasting Gold and Black TOM trunk . I will work on setting up PayPal account and e-mail you Georgio when to sent another Link . Thanks. Rob Knapp.

#307 6 years ago

#308 6 years ago

We are currently working on a new batch, will be ready around 8 Oktober.
The last ones will be send end this week.
Will let you know when they are ready again

#309 6 years ago

Mine's arrived - it's fantastic. Still pretty firm (I was thinking it would be more rubbery) and works fantastic in the machine. Very high quality. Thanks a lot.

#310 6 years ago

Would be interested in a blue and black one when you're ready. I can see you've posted to Australia already!

Mike.

#311 6 years ago

I still want a blue and gold one when they are ready.

How does the feel compare when you hit the trunk?

#313 6 years ago

I have received my trunk today. It is a fantastic product and it is trully unbreakable unlike all other replacement junk trunks. It is totally worth its price because it is better than original flawed part. It is flexible, but not too much. Congratulations to Georgio for manufacturing a superior product (unlike some other official WMS repro junk (for example CFTBL hologram fiasco).

Here are some close up pics of the trunk.

The trunk has a pretty solid feel when you hit it, it's not too dissimilar to the original one. It's definitely more flexible but not in a a bad way at all. It doesn't really flex or have any rubbery bounce when hit. It's much more solid than I thought it would be. Worth every cent.

My trunk spreads out at the bottom on the backside with the magnet and looks a bit funny. Any suggestions on what to use to hold the lower corners to the metal frame? I can’t seem to find anything that will stick to the inside trunk surface.

With our flexi trunk?

Yes. I will try and get some photos but it flares out at the bottom on the large opening side around the magnet and just looks bizarre.

If I could get some type of adhesive to stick to the trunk material I could stick it down to the metal housing but nothing seems to stick.

#320 6 years ago

And when you put the trunk off it is normal again I assume? I'm thinking that you tightened the trunk screws too fast or too loose. What happens if you don't use the screws, is the shape normal then?

I had one customer where he thought he tightened the screws, but one was not in the hole of the bracket, so he raised the Trunk at one corner side. Looked like the Trunk was totaly out of shape.

Must be something at the top side of the metal bracket.
Can you please send pictures to [email protected]? Also from the top inside, so we can have a good look if we see something.

And we don't like taping things in pinballmachines. If something isn't like it should be, we will make it better
Suggestions welcome!

thnx,

George.

sounds like the sizing maybe a little out across the top. ? (doubt it tho), as what op said, loosen the 4 screws, might help.

#323 6 years ago

It doesn't look bad, but I think maybe a dark blue/violet would look better.

#324 6 years ago

I love the blue and gold

#325 6 years ago

Maybe I should remove my down vote on your question "nice or not". Let me know, just wanted to give you feedback.

Thanks!

For the guy with the trunk flairing out, you could (if desperate), adhere one side of velcro on the inside of the trunk and the other side of the velcro on the metal piece. This would allow you to remove the trunk, but also to secure it. This is only if the way you mounted it isn't the problem. Not sure if that would work (I don't have a TOM), but thought I would offer the idea.

Blue, also available, same price, but keep in mind, we are not a factory, slow process in free time.

#329 6 years ago

Blue and gold looks very nice too. You did a really nice job creating these new TOM trunks.

#330 6 years ago

Hello Georgio,
the blue/gold trunk looks great.

Can i order on?

Best regards Martin

#331 6 years ago

The blue was the first trial, but after the current Black/ gold batch is done, we will make some blue.
Please mail to [email protected] for quotes and info.

After my ToM sat powered down for over 4 years, I finally bought some mods, had LEDs installed and had it cleaned up. I also had an NOS trunk installed that I acquired years ago. Looked great when I powered it up. During 1st test game, WHAM! Splinters from the bottom of the trunk. Grrr...

Then I remembered reading a topic on Pinside about an everlasting trunk. Dropped Georgio an email. Sent monies. New trunk arrived within a week. AWESOME! Looks great. Thick and rubbery. Good balance between flexibility and durability. I've been pounding on the trunk for several days now. Just keeps on scoring without a blemish (much less a piece or two falling off).

Thanks Georgio!

The blue looks great to me too!

Just received my trunk - AWESOME!

FedEx attempted delivery of mine today but wouldn't leave the package since I wasn't home. I suspect this is going to be the typical shakedown that FedEx or UPS does when shipping overseas and they demand the receiving party pays an additional brokerage fee that is always grossly more than a reasonable percentage of what I originally paid for the item. Anyone know what I can expect to be charged?

That happened to me last week. The slip FedEx taped to my front door said they would attempt redelivery (but my German shepherd dogs won't answer the door when I'm not home) or I could pick it up after 5 PM at their hub a few towns over. There was an option noted that I could sign the slip and leave it on the front door authorizing them to leave the package at my risk. I signed the slip and added instructions for them to lift the seat of the wooden bench on my front porch and leave the package out of sight inside the bench. There were no additional charges.

#337 6 years ago

OK - maybe I'm being overly paranoid since they usually leave the package at my door. I appreciate how fast the shipping was but sometimes I get hit with additional (ridiculous) fees on top of the shipping charges I already paid when a package arrives from another country. (And the extra payment can only be accepted in cash or money order!)

Looking forward to beating the Hell out of this thing!

Could be the delivery person taking you for a ride, no?

#339 6 years ago

Ha! Maybe. That's why I called it a "shakedown."

"Here's your package, sir. But I see it's from overseas, so I'm going to have to tariff an additional $40, you know, to pay for import taxes and such. Cash only please."

That is pretty much word-for-word a conversation the delivery man once had with my daughter when I wasn't home and a package arrived from Canada!

When Fedex delivered my TOM trunk it did require a signature, but no shakedown was forthcoming.

Got to try mine out last night. I love it and it makes my machine look brand new. Gameplay was halted a little bit while I tried to figure out why my trunk and magnet were no longer working. After inspecting the fuses it turned out I needed to readjust the potentiometer for the trunk's eddy sensor. Not sure if that was somehow related to the new trunk or if it was just an unlucky coincidence.

Thank you so much for selling these georgio and shipping it so quickly. These are works of art. Now I keep saying to myself, "Man - maybe I should have bought that blue one."

Looks like my old replacement trunk I was keeping in storage gets to go up on eBay today.

#344 6 years ago

Yeah , if I hadn’t have bought 2 black and gold trunks , would have jumped on that blue trunk already. I love it. Maybe will grab one yet

Went to install tonight, and noticed that the the side where the light is sticks out really bad due to the nut holding the light bulb in place.

Any suggestions? You'd think this would have been considered when making these...

#346 6 years ago

Hey guys, I received my trunk. As I was putting it on I noticed some foam spacers on the trunk metal. Are these supposed to be here? It bows out the trunk. Just curious what your thoughts are.

When I restored my ToM I didn’t like the way this screw stuck out with my stock trunk so I modified it on my grinding wheel so it sits flush with the bracket.

#349 6 years ago

@Damien, I don't understand the problem. The light should not be sticking out, but in the trunk behind the hole. Also if that is the case, there should not be a bolt peaking out or something.
Please attach a photo, so I or other members can look at this.

There should not be any foam spacers. This is probably done by the previous owner to prevent impact damage on the brose plastic of the trunk, to let is last a month longer or so.
