Picked this up in the middle of Iowa and I wish I could say this was an easy fixer...but it was not!

That being said, I did get the game for a good price. The jones plugs (only three) where the main issue...lots of corrosion on the female side, so needed a lot of TLC. But after replacing a couple of coils and fixing some solder joints...it came to life! Flippers at the top makes it a little tough to get used to, but the knock out holes make it fun.

Fixed it up and sold it already to a new home. Fun game, but it wasn't a keeper for me. Waiting on another woodrail....hopefully this time to keep.

    Here's some pics!

Very cool... those United games from the late 40s with the odd-ball flips are actually more fun than they look; obviously not for everyone. I restored a Serenade from 48 I think for a woman who cried when I delivered it to her home; it was her father's game and after he died, it lay sitting in her basement for years. United playfields from this era are lovely IMO... the game in your pic is a beauty!

I thought there was some unique features about this game.
    1. The ball loader...you actually pushed the lever down to make the ball load to the playing field.
    2. The post at the bottom of the playing field were about 2.5 inches tall with the rubbers stacked three high. I worked on a Bermuda and it could of used this design because it would try to launch the ball OFF the playing field!
    3. Diamond bumper caps. Never seen such!

Dono...loved the story! Now that makes it worth restoring a game....to see a game appreciated that much and have that historical value!
