Oh, man...that's only 10 away from mine!
Was it our next update that was going to contain the new song? I was reading in the Halloween thread and they say they have another update that’ll be out for that title soon. They actually had a lot of good updates in that thread…Luke said they had 40 employees assembling games right now. Spooky has grown significantly.

Both Halloween and Ultraman will be getting the first wizard mode in the next update! Will be very soon here!
It is certainly a madhouse at Spooky right now. So many good things going on!

That’s fabulous. Is the new song track that was referenced earlier being added in the next update as well or is that coming later? (Or was it already added in and I missed it). Thanks!

Pigmon Multiball has the new song! Several other things have been added since as well!

Sounds great!! I’m ready!!
#191 CE has landed!
First impressions are very good.
A dear friend (non pinball) gave me a hand unboxing (87 years young!)
Game play is different and in a good way
Love the upper PFs
Love the art package, it’s stunning
The sounds and lights show - among best of any of my games
The lifters during regular gameplay are a cool and unique feature, I was able to adjust to not seeing the ball enter the inlane. During multi ball it’s going to take some getting used to the lifters. I’ve found myself losing balls often during multi ball. Might just take a similar amount of time to adjust play style
My ramps and diverter have worked flawlessly
Very minor issues unboxing:
Decal on apron installed crooked (will reach out to spooky for new one)
Sound not working on startup (amp was switched off in cabinet)
Blade on topper had fallen off (Allen wrench 0.5 size to tighten)
Right lifter sticks up every 20 times or so (not sorted yet)
I saw all the reviews and noticed that many folks commented on the unique gameplay. So far, I only have 10 games in but I really wanted a game that played different. This does and puts a big smile on my face
Great job Spooky!

So tonight I was playing the game and during Jirah battle my ball disappeared when it went down the hole on the upper, upper playfield. Shook the machine but it never came back (tilted). I cut the game off and raise the playfield cause I couldn't find the ball anywhere. The ball finally showed it self, but when I lower the playfield and cut the game back on the coil for the through and the left flipper coil do not respond. even in test mode they do not work. Has anyone had this happen before? Is it a software issue because I cut the game off during a tilt? Seems unlikely they both went bad and at the same time. Nothing seems damaged or unhooked when I checked.

Sound like a wire came unplugged, loosely plugged in or unsoldered. May have been why the ball never showed up. Switch and or coil was not firing so ball stayed put even through ball search.
Quoted from Gambeno:I think I found the issue. Looks like one of the solenoid fuses blew on the board.
[quoted image]
Now carefully check the wiring at the connection points of the coils that were not working to see if any terminals have a loose wire or are touching each other. The fuse popped and now have to find the issue
Quoted from MT45:Right lifter sticks up every 20 times or so (not sorted yet)
Think I found the issue. Couple of zip ties to correct and so far I’m back in business

That is coming in the next update? I’m really surprised how far this game has come code wise. Glad I didn’t give up on the game early.

Do we know when the next update is going to be released?
Just did the spacer mod. Subtle but noticeable and worth it. Cheap and simple sound upgrade.
Can easily be done by unbolting speaker and flipping it to sit upside down on shaker
Will need new machine screws at 1.5” vs the existing ones at 0.75”
Hint, drill 2 holes (I used 1/4” bit) that perfectly bisect the spacer, then place the spacer on the speaker, slide in two bolts into your new holes, through the speaker too (no need for a nut)
Then center spacer (with 2 bolts sitting in holes through speaker) now reach underneath using a pencil and draw the location of the next 2 holes to drill. Note the ring is “just large enough” and your center to center measurement is 9 and 3/32”

Seems like we should be getting updates for both games shortly after Spooky’s return from MGC.

No that's been out for awhile! Couple updates ago! Wizard mode incoming soon! I think you will really like it when you get your hands on it!
I have UM Currently sitting next to the shadow and I was like…you know, this game kind of reminds me of the shadow.
I haven’t been able to play much the past week or so, but I put a few games on tonight and it’s just so great.
If I were to concisely explain this game it would go something like:
-reminiscent of 90s B/W rulesets
-slower paced than modern sterns
-highly unique layout with 2 additional playfield levels - each with their own mini games/modes
-requires intentional gameplay and shotmaking - not likely to unlock modes or multi balls by just flipping like you might in other modern games
-hot damn gorgeous
It’s just a very nice complement to the collection and it’s nice to have something a little different.
FWIW: my game pretty much played flawlessly out of the box. I still drink a glass of wine waiting for this thing to boot up, but if that’s my only complaint then that aint much to complain about!

Great summary… I’m about 30 games in and would agree with your assessment
I keep looking for the negatives that have folks selling their spots but I’m not finding any
It’s quite a unique game and creates a nice moment when you cross the bridge from headquarters. Feels like an accomplishment!
And, yes - it looks stunning

Quoted from mummite:The artwork on this game is stellar Matt Frank just does the best UIltraman and Godzilla art.
I agree. I was shocked this game didn't even make the finals for Best Artwork.

Ultraman had my vote for best art. I think Its better then Godzilla.
Quoted from RikeIsland:Ultraman had my vote for best art. I think Its better then Godzilla.
The Godzilla art looks like Marvel Art. I don't get the love for it, at all.
Best art hands down by my accords. But everyone has a different idea of what they appreciate and think is best.
Quoted from guitarded:The Godzilla art looks like Marvel Art. I don't get the love for it, at all.
Godzilla is an incredible game but I was very letdown by the art. Its not bad but one of his weaker art packages overall especially the pro. I still cant believe Ultraman was not the winner.
I love Godzilla but it doesn't hold a candle to Ultraman art. The fact that UM finished 4th in voting just goes to show you how stupid awards like TWIPYs are.
Quoted from JohnDeere:Godzilla is an incredible game but I was very letdown by the art.
Yeah - I wanted something much Darker.

I own both and I agree.

I have both UM and GZ Premium. Ultraman had the better art package, it is not close. UM should have won on best art.
UM didn't win because there were probably 200 or so UM's in the wild and (random guess) 2000 Godzilla's. Hence the Twipy's are pointless.
For what it's worth, we were still pretty psyched about winning best topper!!
Definitely thought Weird-Al was going to take it but I guess it wasn't in the running this year. I guess we'll have to *top* it next year!
Tell me that I am not the only one that has let the ball drain because you are to busy shooting the beam with Ultraman after defeating a Kaiju?

Red King approves this blog post, nice write up. Thanks for sharing.
Adjusted my diverter to the left one notch before I took my UM to Zapcon. And with the upper decorative plastic removed, I could see that it was the right idea. Gave the ball somewhere to settle down on its initial landing before rolling away down into headquarters, instead of rolling backwards back down onto the ramp. Made a big difference. And still past the right wall edge when pointing towards the right.

Thanks and funny enough, I saw that mode tonight when I set the GC. It was amazing and I’m sure I had no idea what I was doing
I am absolutely enjoying this game! That upper PF is so much fun

For sure, what pin again?
Not sure if its just me, but after the update my shaker motor seems to shake like crazy. It rattles the glass, it's so bad. anyway to turn it down?
Seems like new UM owners are not reporting same powder coat issues as Halloween? -hopefully good news.
Yeah, UM doesnt have metallic vein powder. So that issue doesn’t exist on this side of the fence.
Quoted from Vino:Seems like new UM owners are not reporting same powder coat issues as Halloween? -hopefully good news.
Quoted from Morgoth00:Adjusted my diverter to the left one notch
Is this an easy adjustment? what are the steps to adjust the diverter.
Quoted from mummite:Is this an easy adjustment? what are the steps to adjust the diverter.
Pretty easy. Removing the screw closest to the servo, gently wiggling the diverter up off the spline, reposition/push down and put the screw back in.
Make sure you cycle it in the menu to check both positions and put it back to ramp diversion before finishing.
Here is the angle you may see when you first look at it. Way too far to the right. One left spline movement will put it just at the edge of the right hole where the red line is. Then that gives you much more room once it moves left for the house shot (as seen in previous post)

Anyone ever figure out a solution to why the right subway doesn't recognize the ball? Mine does not recognize the ball 75% of the time, if shot down the quick battle scoop. I don't usually have this problem if shot from the upper playfield.

We're both Halloween and UM your pins? I tried to play HWN but it got stuck in the divertor. I tried wiggling it and ball search did nothing, finally walked away. A few steps later and the guy says the ball is lose. I come back to flip and it falls off the playfield somewhere lol. I just said not my day for Halloween I guess. UM looked great and always had someone playing. Bummed the RZ was down as well.

No that Halloween was not mine, I kept mine at home. That was my UM though.
I got some games in on RZ Friday, first time playing. It played good but felt like the only main thing to really do was to constantly work on coffin add-a-ball.

A strong left orbit shot leads to a saucer that triggers a mode select.
You mentioned the Living Dead Girl add-a-ball multiball.
Locking balls behind the drop target starts House of 1000 Corpses - a 7-ball multiball.
There are a few other side things as well.
Certainly not the deepest game, but much more to do than the add-a-ball.
