Hey, looks arnt everything, but what rises to the top for you as some of the ugliest pinball machines ever made?
They may play like a dream (or not), ranked high or low, but what immediately comes to mind and why?
Thanks for sharing!

I think pinball machines are art and that the pinnacle of human artistic endeavor is the Avatar pinball machine by the amazing and inspired artists at Stern. Either that or Dale Jr.
Quoted from Dayhuff:Spanish Eyes for sure.
John
I thought that too until I got to out some time on it and now the sight of it means I get to play some great pinball
Quoted from o-din:Genesis
Jungle King
Metallica
To name a few.
This could be a long list...
The sweaty old men on the MET Roadcase translite is right up there for sure. Swapped mine out immediately.
Quoted from Vino:The sweaty old men MET Roadcase translite is right up there for sure. Swapped mine out immediately.
Gonna say, the METLE art is fantastic!
Quoted from zacaj:My favorite williams EM art package
Yeah, I think Spanish Eyes is pretty cool. Especially considering some of the other art packages from that same decade.

I actually just swapped my Metallica pro translite for the roadcase I prefer it much more.
Quoted from hollywood:Gonna say, the METLE art is fantastic!
That's the one I had. Better in your art gallery than mine. Beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder.

Well, if you ever need an extra just let me know.

Quoted from zacaj:Flash
As a guy who owns a Flash this is objectively the correct answer .
Quoted from Coolpinballdino:Hardbody and spring break.
Hardbody is so aweful looking it’s sort of cool in a 1980s cocaine binge kind of way.
Company made
Owner made anything in here...

That new Supreme pinball is easily the correct answer to this.....end of discussion. A distant second to me is that Domino's pin.
Quoted from girloveswaffles:Dracula. But I can't decide which is worse:
The cabinet art

... or the back glass.

Backglass for sure. That cabinet art is awesome!
Quoted from snakesnsparklers:Genesis

But Genesis translite is so bad it's good lol.

Don't forget about Hollywood Heat!
20180702_181604 (resized).jpgMaybe a better question is what game did you think was ugly but grew on you. I always kind of appreciated the art on Spanish Eyes but it had increased appeal after having a clean example. I always thought Flash was hideous. After playing it and discovering how fun it was the art is not without some charm. It's no Rembrandt but at least has a positive association now. As mentioned in the confessions thread I also always thought Centaur was pretty ugly but it sure has it's fans. Never having played one I am reserving judgement.

No question...

Both!
Quoted from jwilson:Anything from Williams from about 1978 to 1982.
I would not include Blackout in that list. The mirrored backglass on that and the playfield look awesome all lit up.
Quoted from Robotworkshop:I would not include Blackout in that list.
Yeah, and I think Black Knight is a pretty good looking machine.
For me, it's just about any EM with Morrison artwork on them. I've had a few, but they didn't last very long.
Quoted from Robotworkshop:I would not include Blackout in that list. The mirrored backglass on that and the playfield look awesome all lit up.
Don't get me wrong - I own a Firepower, it looks okay. But it's not GOOD. Same with Blackout and Black Knight. None of it is GOOD.
Seems like a lot of Gottlieb system 80B games make this list.
Raven is easily the worst
People forget.
Bad girls. Terrible game.
Genesis actually looks good compared to the above two.
Quoted from dookski:Looking at the well walker on TWD... Just gross. Not like scary or cool, just ick. It's ugly.
I think the art on TWD is excellent, but the Well Walker makes it a no-go for my family. Wish they’d used a different zombie there.
