Heads up. I've been emailing back and forth today with the woman selling a TZ in bear DE for 4500. Story is that she and her husband are relocating and she needs it gone fast. Despite saying I want to come look at it tomorrow or Sunday, she keeps responding to send money so she can ship it to me. I've told her I'm in nj, but she still wants to ship. She sent pictures and it looks great, but I don't think they are hers and she refuses to send additional ones, such as inside the backbox. She also won't send me her address. Beware.

#2 9 years ago

Agreed, sounds fishy.

#3 9 years ago

She just sent me an address, doesn't exist. Says she doesnt need to send more pics because I'm coming to see it. Total scam. Any Delaware guys close to her to pursue it? See how far you can get.

#4 9 years ago

run , run very far away !

#5 9 years ago

These were her instructions to me...I think Ive seen this text before, but not sure where. After I told her the address didn't exist, she says she will meet me. Wtf??

The machine will be placed on a pallet and
then professional wrapped one to two times in cardboard to protect the
cabinets of the machine from excessive damage. The machine is then
banded to the pallet to secure it from movement while in route. The
balls are taken out of the machine to prevent any damage the balls
could cause will loose in the machines. All balls, keys power cords,
leg bolts and manuals are placed in the coin box and zip tied inside
the machine. Machine is now ready to be packaged for shipment. For us
to proceed, I will let you get back to me with your
Full Names
House Address
Phone Number
City/Sate
Postal Code

Once i receive the above information, alongside the money, i will
immediately get the pin ship over to you.

Thanks

Reverse image search the pics you do have, you'll likely see they're elsewhere online.

Bear, DE is the new Nigeria.

Well what's wrong with you? She did her part, send her the money.

#8 9 years ago

She sent me her number...it's 302 area code, which is DE.

The plot thickens...

Here's some pics she sent...anyone recognize them...looks like a restored TZ.

Haha, zero cab fade. Is that playfield cleared or just perfect? Shiny new rubber. Sure looks like a $4500 game to me. It totally makes sense that she would take the time, money, and risk to ship that 100 miles at less than what the machine is worth.

#12 9 years ago

its a scam 100% I have been screwing with them all day. I keep telling them that I am sending the moneygram. I offered extra for packaging and delivery

#13 9 years ago

*edit* Nvm.. didn't see it was a pull off a vendor site..

#15 9 years ago

A friend of a friend here on pinside drove to Delaware recently on a similar ad in the marketplace and wound up in a deserted strip mall. No need to keep pursing this scam.

#16 9 years ago

Its a scam. Confirmed. Pictures are from coinopdoc. Tried to pick up with no luck. Here is the reply:

"The machine is in very good condition and works perfectly and has got
no problem .

We are located in Delaware and can ship to any place withing US .

Let us know were you are located so that we can arrange for the delivery .

As for the payment we accept bank transfer and wire transfer only .you
shall make a deposit of 1850 $ to enable us ship the machine over to
you and when you receive the machine you complete the balance .

Thanks
Velma"

Tell Velma that your brother in law is a DE State Police officer and has agreed to pick up the game and pay in person, cash in full.

i was able to get through to her.
she sent me this pic she took with one of her pin mods.
she said the path to get to her is dark and scary... but is definitely worth it.
also, she said to ignore those pesky pinsiders always meddling in other peoples' business.

OMG, Velma Dinkley... How YOU doin'?

#20 9 years ago

Makes one wonder where our law enforcement is. With wire transfers and such, this should be so easy to set up and bust.

#21 9 years ago

Wow, I never pictured Velma THAT way, but I see her in a whole different light now!

#22 9 years ago

according to the seller... there's a whole sexy Velma underground, mostly focused on pinball...

The person is probably in Thailand.

There's alot of assholes out there! There's a TZ on sf craigslist in redding it's beautiful and the guys the real deal

#25 9 years ago

I've been playing with the guy. He wanted me to money gram him 500 for shipping and pay the rest when the machine arrives. I told him I was too old and didn't know what a money gram was. He tells me to go to Walmart, or have my wife do it. He wanted my contact info, including phone number. I gave him the number and address of the FBI, and told him to ask for James Comey. He actually called the number because he emailed me back and told me it was the FBIs number and that I should stop playing around if I wasn't serious. I told him he was being watched and that "we" know more about him than he thinks, including that he's in Cameroon..that was the last communication.

I alerted mr. Pinball since that's where the original ad was placed, Dana said its a scammer from Cameroon. Guy is a real ass, it's one thing to tell people to send money, it's another level telling people to drive long distances for pick up to a fake place.
