I'm looking for a guide that will show how to find and replace all the General Illumination lamps with LEDs on Twilight Zone.

It would also be nice with color suggestions för G.I. LEDs.

It is easiest done from underneath using an electric screwdriver with magnetic holder. Easy to find from the bottom by the locations and way they are wired. Lots of daisy chaining.

Recommendation: Well I love the frosted warm white in most applications for GI. But Art (Comet LEDs) recommended the cool white for the dark black / blue themed games. I went with that and it looks great on mine.

Frosted White Twin 2835 or Fluted Twin 2835. Sunlight, if you want a hint of color.

Add tastefully, ant colored LEDs in GI, although TZ doesnt need it. Add a few Op-Max in the back,
Or gran a strip, and brightness adj, and tweak the back to play off the GI at the right level.

Being released soon, is a 45 degree 2 sided micro strip.....thats killer!

Sorry, I was not clear enough. I have already changed all the inserts LEDs (from underneath). I have also changed the flashers and the backbox lamps.

The big problem for me is the General Illumination lamps. There is no guide in the manual for them and it is not possible to test them one by one. Some of the are easy to spot (e.g. by the outlanes) but some are hidden in the upper playfield.

It would be a big help for me if someone could provide:
a) a guide showing where all of them are located
b) instructions how to reach some of the difficult ones
c) color advice (I generally prefer active color choices instead of "just" white)

Thanks!

Only two in the "upper playfield", in the street lamp. All GI bulbs, save for ONE are visible from under the playfield. (May not be changeable, but they're visible. The one that isn't is in the gumball stack, top level, behind the gumball machine.

And no, I don't believe anyone has "made a chart".

You can check each string separately (but not each bulb)

The Average game is 50 bulbs in GI.....I wont get to my TZ for a few weeks, but to memory, I believe it has a bit more.

Why not order 75, and play it safe...100 even if you have another game.

Charts and lists like you are looking for are what come with "kits" and how bulb vendors earn their living,
so generally this are not shared, respectfully, in a public situation.

Someone might PM you.

Otherwise, you might be gambling a whole $16.25, to have all these answers provided, before you decide......

Well, I did order Cointakers LED Kit (Super Upgrade) but no GI's were included. However, the instructions for the kit says that Playfield GI consists of 34 Cool Frosted 44s and 2 Warm Flex 555s (Street light). But there is no location guide for the GI's. It is also odd that the official manual doesn't have such a location guide.

I plan to use colored LEDs instead of the white ones. I have seen good looking color choices, like purple in the low playfield, red around the gumball machine and blue in the upper right part of the playfield.

If anybody has a location guide to share, please send me a PM.

If anybody has color advice (other than white), please post them here.

Thanks!

I have looked really close under the playfield and could only find 28 GI-positions.

I have not been able to find the GI in the Gumball Stack yet (mentioned by Coyote above).

Also I'm having trouble finding a way to replace the bulbs under the mini playfield (not GI's).

And how do you get to the bulbs in the "Start" and "Extra Ball"buttons?

Can't comment on #. The bulb in the stack is on top layer, to right of disaster.

You take the mini playfield out.

You pull the switches from the housings.
