Honestly, save yourself a lot of work and trouble down the road, and just solder the wires directly to the board.

you may not be able to find that specific cable exactly. but it's a very dumb animal, it's just 2 wires in a plastic housing. just remove any wire strands still possibly remaining in the plastic connector, place the black wire in it's original slot (just like the red one), and lightly hammer it down w a flat head screwdriver until it's secured in place.

i'm going to go out on a limb and say if he's unsure how to replace that wire in the connector, soldering probably will be an ambitious endeavor.
