So one day while I'm playing my tz, I shoot the ball into the slot machine and the ball doesn't kick out, opon inspection, I find that the wire strands at the solder point of the coil had broken off leaving one or two and I thought that was the problem. After cutting, stripping and soldering, I find that wasn't the problem. When I am just about to test if my fix worked, I drop the balls back in and find that the trough coil isn't kicking the balls over so I go into test and check the high voltage section of coils (1-8) to see if they are working, I find that at 4 or so are dead. I'm looking in the manual and track down the fuse for 1-8 (f105) to only find its fine. I have no clue what's going on. Any help would be appreciated thanks

Did u solder the wire to the correct lug? Check wire colors

#3 7 years ago

Did you pull F105 and check with a meter ?

Next up, figure out the common wire color on the non working coils. And follow from every coil it stops at back to the board. And see if you have an obvious broken wire killing some of them.

Ya. Detach wire and resolder to other lug, consider yourself lucky

How do you know the fuse is fine? Did you pull one end and measure continuity? You can't visually verify whether or not a fuse is good or bad.

I have tested and replaced f105

And I resoldered the wire to the correct lug because the coil only had two,

Found the culprit!
This is probably why my game isn't working!

The broken wire was the issue, they daisy chain from one coil to another and if a wire breaks, the coils after that in the chain will not work

Exactly what LTG said. He helped me a few years ago fix my Dirty Harry. Isn't Pinside awesome?
