Hi,

Since I replaced my MPU board with a new Rottendog one, I get the message at the machine start up, clock is broken. But the clock test works perfect regarding quarters indicators and hours, in fasr, slow, forward and reverse mode.

I do not know if this a feature, but in the middle of the game the clock hands spin loosely for a while, then stop on midnight.

Does anyone have an idea of the problem ?

thanks in advance

Maybe date and time not set after mpu swap?

Quoted from jimy_speedt:

That's not a feature. It means that the MPU isn't able to decode the location of the hands from the 8 optos on the clock board.
Make sure that J103 is connected. The 4-pin plug provides ground for the clock.

Date and time are set. here is the picture of j103. I reseated it.

I understand the explanation about MPU unable to decode, is j103 the only thing to look at ?

J103 looks good.
Now it's a matter of probing around to find the failure.
Could be the clock opto's, the clock minute hand, the special 10-opto board, connectors, etc, etc.
Lot's of things to investigate.

Check the wires found inside the clock itself.
They are bent at such a severe angle where they go in the bottom of the clock they commonly break inside the grey shielding on them. It could be as simple as a bad ground to the clock optos inside those wires.

DMM on buzz tone one side of the clock plugs to the other.

what you are saying looks strange to me. There is no wire inside the clock. Parts and 2 pcbs and the engine power. only 2 external connectors + one connecting hours and minutes pcbs. I DMMed the gnd wire, it. is linked to the ground.
