I know people like the German(?) board, but I installed a Rottendog LED clock board on mine and was happy. I wouldn’t mess with the original opto especially if you are going to leave the hot original lights on the board. It will break again.

RD had a batch of opto's custom built for him -- the only place you can get replacements is from RD, the manufacturer will not sell to anybody else. Instead of fixing the problem with the opto high current loading, he duplicated the same problem that existed with the old Williams optos and eventually they will suffer the same fate - you'll be back to square one again.
Yeah I hear you, but this TZ went on location for years with the RD board and had about 50k plays on it with the board when the arcade shut down this year. So this one was pretty good. Sounds like the German board is better, but you can have good results with the available option.
