Does anybody install optos on a TZ clock board? I have my old clock that i had a new kit (from EBAY) put on, but when plugged in it still says "CLOCK IS BROKEN". The only things that aren't new are the optos. I have a different board in the machine from MARCO that works, just want a spare.

What does the clock do in test? It could be one opto that is bad or multiple. When I restored mine, I took the whole clock assembly apart and cleaned. Use a QTip with some Windex and clean the optos, rerun test. In home use you shouldnt have to worry about your clock board going bad, a back up is nice but I dont think needed.
Start with the service menu clock opto test. Watch them trigger. If you see them all trigger but it is just wrong you need to align the hands and gears properly. If you don't see the optos triggering the optos are bad / installed wrong.
If you end up having to buy a new clock board, I can vouch for the Ingo Kramer TZ clock board!
