Battery holder issue on my TZ.

The copper contacts / end caps has apparently broken up , parts fallen off.
The remaining parts barely gives the batteries contact.

Does this normally happen ?

Is there an easy fix?

Is it hard to swap the holder ?

If you have good soldering skills ant the correct tools they are easy to replace. If not get a remote battery holder and then you can just solder two wires on the board to take care of the problem.

I'd forget about fixing it and just go with a remote battery holder.

Make sure you remove the old holder and clean any corrosion that is lurking underneath it before you consider the job complete.

If you add a remote holder, look at adding spade lugs for the two wires near the mother board, and then put the holder near the coin door so you don't have to remove the backglass to change the batteries. The spade lugs are so you can remove the board easily without having to fish the battery holder thru the machine. Make sure you set up so you can't reverse polarity.
