So heavy I got to see them once, it was Halloween they opened for Danzig.
Good music to kill time on. For sure.

Jeez I haven't listen to them since high school. Saw in concert in a small place in MA,can't remember..maybe lupo's? Had a band open with a female lead singer and heavy drums, wish I remembered the group cause they were really good. I should have bought one of their cd's they were selling at the show.

All that was back in 1993.
Chime in if you know the band with female lead singer. Viscous music that I really liked. Was and still am a Danzig nut. Like the evil music.

Absolutely agree. Danzig can come off as a little 'try too hard' sometimes, but man those first 4 albums are head-smashers. Still dig Samhain and the Misfits too.
Type O I am hit or miss with - Bloody Kisses is amazing, IMO - some of their later albums ("World Coming Down", "Life is Killing Me") are just tooo.... damn... depressing... for....... me.
However, their last album before Peter passed - "Dead Again" - IS ON FIRE!! It's like he kicked the heroin (I think he did) and all of a sudden there's life again. Ugh, no pun intended.

I saw them on that same tour also, albeit on the east coast....my buddies band anger reign opened for the both of em.
Forgive her for she knows not what she does

R Doyle I bet you can google the info. The date of the tour or rough date will probably help.
I saw both both white zombie and type o negative open for Danzig on separate halloweens. Might be thinking of the female in white zombie?
Quoted from Azmodeus:Chuck I am type b negative. When I was young I used to get hounded for blood. By the Red Cross.
I still do. I give double every time I go. Everyone can have my blood, I can only get O- Carry on everyone. Sorry for the derail. Haha
When I worked in the music business I once had to pick them up in their hotel room and bring them to an in-store appearance. Nice guys.
That was a good album. My buddy was a fan and played them all the time. It has been a couple of decades since I last listened to them though.

Blood...is a precious thing...in these times.
Saw Type O and Hatebreed along with other bands several years ago. The goth girls really turned out for it! Amazing show and to this day remains one of the very best concerts i've ever attended. The day afterward the radio mentioned the concert and they heard that Type O had totally trashed their hotel room Sadly Peter passed about 1 year after

It breaks my heart that Peter died. He was the most essential part of their sound and songwriting.
They are one of my all time favorite bands.

I love Christian Woman.
Some of my other Type O Negative faves
Black No. 1 (of course)
Love You To Death
My Girlfriend's Girlfriend
Love Type O Negative! If you like Type O you should give "The 69 Eyes" a listen. Awesome band as well! Very similar music and sound.
I have Love you to Death on my Met. Great song, October Rust is a great album/cd/download.
Seen them 4 times. Once at Disneylands House of Blues. Peter use paper plates as mouse ears during the show... Funny

Yeah Poisonblack are great as well! Same dark gothic sound.
Quoted from Dee-Bow:genitorteres ?!?
Now that I been digging at this I am pretty sure that "LYCIA" was the opening band when I went.Really cranking on my memory but I had a great time.

they lost me a bit with World Coming Down and Life Is Killing Me, but holy shit did they bring my back with Dead Again, it should have been a bigger album for them. Always a fun band to see live, they never took themsleves too seriously
I'm going to listen to some of the stuff mentioned. Thanks music sustains me now. All I have for motivation is music, mostly. I had three brain surgeries and a stroke. Just before my disasters, love you to death and rust? Going off memory because it's good therapy, for me.
Those two girls are porn stars from the 80s too. I never really cared for either of them but together they are rocking.
Hows that for some memory, heh.
Haha.. i always loved Pete and the boys! They never took themselves too serious and the man played a stand up bass... around his neck! Wasnt he a city worker (garbageman) in new york right up until he passed?
I know Steve from Danzig and of course Johnny Kelly from Type O is their drummer now. A couple years ago I was backstage after their concert in Minneapolis and somehow the topic of pinball came up. I was listing off the games I own and when I mentioned the 79' KISS, Johnny goes, "You have a KISS pinball machine!!??! No f*cking way!!", like it was the greatest thing in the world. Well, it is.
That same night, my buddy who was with me, bummed a Corona beer out of Johnny's cooler. The club they were playing had only put 6 bottles of Corona in it and they were like gold to him, but he was nice to share. My buddy goes to pop the cap off the bottle by doing the hit it on the edge of a table thing. Only the table he tried to do it on was some flimsy card game type table and the Corona falls on the floor and beer shoots out the top like someone spraying champagne. We all laughed and made fun of him. My buddy goes to grab another beer from the cooler and Johnny looks all serious at him and goes "No mother f*cker. You finish that one first". There was like 2 inches of beer and the rest was foam. Pretty funny night.
hey minneapolispin, about time for another deadly story about Pete! or even a wicked backstage Danzig story! what was chuck biskits like on the road?!
I went looking for trouble, and I found her.

In school we used to give blood and go drinking. Extra messed up for less $.
Opps, back on topic -
I remembered Seals and Croft doing Summer Breeze from the early 70s. So when I heard the Type-O version I had to find out more about the band.
In tribute to Peter Steele IF I do a pinsound upgrade on my WWF Royal Rumble,
during the SLEEPER mode I'll be adding this song...
