Hey guys i know this gets posted all the time, but i recently acquired a pinball machine from a relative. I know it was working prior to him putting it in storage, but i took it out of storage and can’t get it to power on. Any ideas on a simple fix? I have seen people sell them for $2500 in good working condition, and wonder how much for this one in this shape? Thanks and located in Kentucky.

I would first check to see if the batteries in the back box leaked onto the board if not then check all fuses in the back box and possibly some under the playfield.

#3 5 years ago

Would need pics of the inside of back box to see boards and in cabinet to give a idea on estimate, just incase its got damage or missing boards or other parts.
-I would be interested if a reasonable price could be met.

Its not powering on at all or the gi comes on and no display? Try reseating the display connector on the side of the cpu board a few times.

#9 5 years ago

From the limited photos, the cab and playfield look pretty nice.

I see some surface rust on the shooter, which would make me want to see more photos of underside of pf and in backbox.

If looking for a quick sale,i would think 2000 as-is someone may bite just because the cab and pf look nice.
Guessing battery has leaked but boards are repairable or replaceable.

Thanks.. i will take additional photos (still figuring out how to get the pieces off). Hoping i can find a fuse or something that just needs replaced.. but not working, i would definitely take 2,000 this week.

Yikes, then it could be anything. Basic trouble shooting.
Prices are all over the place on tx. I paid 1100 for one 2 years ago another project on ebay went for like 1600 I think. Be prepared to ship it.
If you were closer I would buy it.

#13 5 years ago

I see rust here

I have no interest in shipping it. Would have to be pickup.

Additional photos. Also, i do not have the key. If nobody wants to buy it as is.. i will have one made this week and get the bottom opened up.

Cab looks a bit rougher w better photos.

Limiting to local also limits your audience and potentisl price. May be more like 1500 if only local sale.

#17 5 years ago

Looks like some battery damage on the mpu, and looks like some oxidation in a lot of areas on the playfield, did it spend anytime in a damp basement or garage?

#18 5 years ago

It spent about a year in a storage unit.. but it was an indoor unit with a controlled temp. Before that it was in a basement but shouldn’t have been damp. Here’s underneath photos.

Drilling the lock out will be faster and much cheaper.any potential buyer won't have an issue with no lock.

#20 5 years ago

Looks like the battery has corroded the MPU board.

You are going to need somebody who can do acid damaged board repair fix this.

Could well be a $$$$ repair.

#21 5 years ago

Nice find. If I were local, I would love a non-working TX-Sector; it's the only kind I can afford.

#22 5 years ago

Thanks for all the info guys. I replaced a bulb and got all the lights on, but it’s pending pickup.

#23 5 years ago

Cool man, if you were closer I would have made an offer.

She's going to a great pair of homes -- my buddy and I made first contact and we went halfsies on it...

*Great* seller...

Any and all prayers for safe travels are welcome at this point.
