My williams pat hand is four player machine. Machine is on free play.
I only can play a one player game or two player game without any problem.
When pushing the start button for the third time nothing happend also pushing four times nothing happend.
After completed a one or two player game , machine is resetting completely by pushing startbutton and you can start one playergame or two player game.
Please need some assistance.

Check the Coin unit. It manages the number of players. I suspect it not be stepping properly. (once for each time the coin relay pulses)

The Coin Unit stepper that ArgosySK refers to has a metal gear with a pin sticking out of the side, and that pin should open a switch when the Coin stepper gets to its 4th position. Yours is likely opening that switch when the Coin stepper gets to its 2nd position.
