Two light problems with my Ship-Mates (Gottlieb 1964):
1. The lights for player 3 and 4 do not work during play but they work afterwards (image below).
2. The GI lamps are blinking/flickering during play (video below)
Any suggestions?
I don't have the schematic for that game, but I think you might have two different sources/controls for those P3/4 lites for in-game and post-game. Check the 6v. side of your schematic.
in the head box there is a relay per player that closes as the player is up. the rlays are upper right when looking at the back. a contact on those relays drives the player lights. clean and gap etc. ive also had to crush the contact with needlenose pliers because the pads can be loose in the fingers
I cleaned the relay switches and that did the trick! Player 3 and 4 lights work now! Thanks!
But what about the other problem? Are the GI lamps supposed to blink during play (video above)? I saw a Youtube video where they blinked like that. Does that mean it's ok or is it just a common problem?

it looks normal, only that area blinks. notice the lamps under top arch stay steady
Quoted from currieddog:Did someone put 455 flasher bulbs in?
no, its flashing with a rollover, part of game play
