Hi there,
SITUATION ONE: If I want to replace a socket in the head of my game, what's the process for removing the old one? Since they're sunken into the wood, wasn't sure how to extract. Un-solder the ground braid, un-solder the wires, and just pull out with pliers? Also, is there a way (as a pre-emptive step before replacing) to try to fix these? I have done Clay's method on playfield sockets where you add a drop of solder to the "tit" on the end of the bulb and added the wire there, and then also added a drop of solder to bridge the gap between the bracket and the socket-body, thereby overcoming the usual failure points and that works great. Can you do this with these? if so, not sure where to solder.
SITUATION TWO: Second, on socket strips like these (see photo -- this is from the underside of a Quick Draw) what's the right way to remove/replace one of these if it's bad, and what's the right kind of replacement socket?
Thanks!
