Twitch-Connect is here for the P3!

This gives Twitch streamers the option to let their viewers actively control aspects of gameplay. That's stream viewers affecting gameplay on physical P3 pinball games (real balls, real flippers, real targets, bumpers, ramps, and toys) in real-time.

Read the full announcement at https://www.multimorphic.com/news/twitch-connect/ and learn how to enable these features on your P3 and get better engagement from your viewers.

Ooh, can't wait to throw some roadblocks your way, gstellenberg!

This is really interesting - will this be available for 3rd party titles?

I'm envisioning an update to RITR that would allow for some cool interaction!

Yes, it's a platform feature. It's an option all P3 game developers can choose to integrate, and they can add twitch control for any game features they want. The platform handles the low level work, and the game developer connects it to the game features.

Wow, did not see this coming. Will be interesting to see how it works.

Ok, then next inevitable question:

(I’m not sure on whether or not this is a good idea, but How far off are we to being able to play P3 remotely ? Sure, the lag.. but what a way to promote the platform!

We'll be showing this off in a triple stream event this Monday (9/7) @ 8pm ET! Check it out!

Join any of the 3 streams and play powerups through chat!

Is there any plans to extend the twitch-connect features to a mobile phone app? So you can have one person at home playing the game and another person (in the same room) triggering power-ups on their phone.

At the risk of sounding... lazy; how about you have a google calendar with the streams there?
I always forget... maybe I'll unlazy myself and add this to my personal calendar.

That already works. Just pull up the twitch chatroom on your phone! You don't have to be streaming video.

What is " Ranger in the Ruins!" as posted as new game for the P3?

#11 9 months ago

ThisNotes4U it's a new 3rd-party game that I developed using the Cosmic Cart Racing playfield module, and it is releasing this weekend! There is also a reveal stream tonight.

So, this is in an hour or so right?

#13 9 months ago

15mins until this goes live.

This is so cool! It turns pinball stream consuming from a passive activity to something you can actively participate in. Really amazing work.

#15 9 months ago

Wow. Just "watched" this. Actually "played" is more like it. You can "chat" to help or hinder the players. Very cool. They stated this would be implemented into the to the other games as well.

Had fun too. Just a little tired of typing. Needs a gfx front-end to make it funner

If you a follow a Twitch channel and turn on notifications you'll get a push notification or email any time it goes live.

Got my side of the Twitch-Connect battle posted up on YouTube today, check it out here:

If you want to see how the interaction all worked, you can watch the replay on Twitch and see the chat commands, etc. happen in real-time in the replay over there: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/734603701?t=00h06m41s

Thanks Kevin! Your recording is great - much better than mine.

I'd say this feature was a hit. Looked like everybody in chat was having a good time, especially those with octopus arms.

Thanks to Stephen, here's a ViewSync version of the final race of our first Twitch-Connect session. It was a close race, and the viewer interactions had a big impact on gameplay.

https://tinyurl.com/CCR-Twitch-Connect

To view, click on each of the 3 streams to start buffering. Then click on the single play button that appears at the bottom of the screen.

Convenient highlighting considering the outcome of that race!

I don't remember the others. Didn't they all end the same way?

What was convenient was some unseen non-streamer contestant who coughed right into his mic very rudely. Made for an excellent sync point!

We're keeping a list of requests for twitch-integration features on all of our games. Since it's a platform feature on the P3, all apps can tie in twitch-control without recoding the interface.

Let us know what you think will add to your viewing / interacting experience in a positive way (without making them game unplayable for the streamer(s)), and we'll consider adding them! Feel free to reply here or send me a PM/email.

Heist now has Twitch-connect!

This early-access implementation includes:
-- blackout!
-- bit donations add floating dollars to the screen
-- viewer-controlled police traps
-- viewer-controller amored car sequences

PM or email us with other idea for viewer interactions in Heist (and all other P3 games).
