Hey guys - just picked up a Twister and it is going to require some work. I am trying to troubleshoot some features, but I don't know when they are supposed to be on - if that makes sense. I read the manual and either I missed it or it's not in there. Specifically, when is the fan topper supposed to be on and when is the disc supposed to spin. The multiball feature works if I get three locked balls it spits them out, spins, etc. That said, in game play it seems as if the fan blows and spinner spins every time a ball rolls over it. Not sure how often these features are supposed to work.

Also, the top diverter magnet switch open error is present. The magnet seems to work if I shoot a ball around it, and it also seems to release every once and a while - though not always. I have checked fuses and they tested good. Mag board does appear to have Bulletin 91 installed. Any thoughts as to what I should check to clear the open switch on the diverter and get it to work as it should?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Here are some pics of the machine. Some additional questions:
1 - Once I clean and shop the PF, can I apply mylar over the bare spots to protect from further damage? Or is putting mylar on bare spots bad? I would wax it before hand.
2 - How is the Dorothy Canister attached? The base to the canister is broken, but I can epoxy that. The canister itself, however, does not seem to be connected to anything. I can move it up and down, etc. The wires are connected of course, but not the canister itself.
3 - Are there replacements for the little cardboard fan under the ball sensor? Mine has seen better days, Is suppose I could probably try and make one.
4 - The top magnet is pretty beat up. It is flattened to the point that it is wider than the original hole. Do I need to replace the entire magnet assembly, or do they just make that magnetic plunger? Thanks for the help everyone.

Ok - I found the answers to number 3 and 4 above. I have replacements coming. I still don't know when the magnets and fan are supposed to actuate. Any thoughts on my original post above? Thanks.

You can apply mylar over areas that need extra protection. Just wax everything first to make sure it'll be removable later down the road.

I'm afraid I'm not much help answering your other questions. Although, if that magnet core that has been flattened out still works, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just keep it as is. I'd only worry about it if it causes ball hangups.

Have another issue. The fan and spinner keep going after twister multi ball is complete. It doesn't stop until the end of the turn. Even after multi ball is over. Thoughts? Thanks.

I believe this is normal behavior. If it's not, we have the same problem

Really? I read a post that said it might be the relay board. Good to know mine isn't the only one that does it though! Appreciate it.

i actually don't like that it does this. After a few minutes of the fan I'm pretty done with it .

mine also keeps spinning until the end of the turn after multiball. It is annoying after a while, but I'm glad I'm not the only owner who also experiences this.
