At the moment the benefits of Spike are not with the consumer.
Hard or impossible to repair.
No schematics.
Super expensive to replace.
And many boards are just not available with the main retailers.

Most of the rumors seem to come directly from pinside so paying to be in an insiders club seems a non starter.

Interesting if a team at Stern doesn't like a theme the game doesn't get done.
Might explain why Stern seem to have a lot of licenses that don't get used.
