    Quoted from pin2d:

    Fast and the Furious

Groot approves! You can keep the rest...

    #107 6 years ago
    Quoted from Whysnow:

(guessing the main voice actors and music needed to do it right)

    That never stopped them before...

    #134 6 years ago
    Quoted from pin2d:

We've eliminated some more and here are the remaining possibilities:

    Back to the Future
    The Beatles
    The Goonies
    Harry Potter
    James Bond
    Jaws
    Super Mario Bros.
    Zelda

So in other words, nothing new.

    Quoted from Crile1:

If it is yellow submarine like everyone says

..everybody's going to have to start dropping acid again.

    #148 6 years ago

Probably should change the title of this thread so it doesn't read "two new themes" as well.

    #150 6 years ago
    Quoted from jgentry:

All of them except Ringo also had successful solo carriers

    How quickly they forget.

    #152 6 years ago

At one time, it was considered a current theme.

    #155 6 years ago

On the positive side, they haven't released a music pin featuring long dead major rock stars since Elvis.

    #158 6 years ago
    Quoted from spfxted:

What?? Ringo's first two albums were fantastic!

And he still tours now and then with the all starr band. And who could forget his great acting career?

    #160 6 years ago

And let us not forget who did lead vocals on Yellow Submarine!

    #163 6 years ago

They were all great! Greatest rock n roll band of all time. Modern pinball doesn't deserve them. I'd rather keep my memories intact.

    #169 6 years ago
    Quoted from jgentry:

    Why does pinside hate everything?

They spend all their money and get ripped off? They don't get the theme they want? They can't take a joke? You tell me.

    #172 6 years ago
    Quoted from jgentry:

    Easy come, easy go.

    Bobby Sherman, I believe.

    #176 6 years ago

    Lennon was always my favorite.

I want a Tomorrow Never Knows subliminal mode.

    Quoted from Mr68:

I'm a huge Pete Best fan.

    He loves you too!

    #190 6 years ago
    Quoted from EalaDubhSidhe:

It'll be Joe Kaminkow, and it'll be Yellow Submarine specifically. For the price it would cost, you wouldn't try to cover the whole of the Beatles' career, as it would be impossible to put in everything you wanted to do

Then here's the original Beatles songs to choose from from that album and movie along with a few orchestrated numbers-

    1. "Yellow Submarine"
    2. "Only a Northern Song"
    3. "All Together Now"
    4. "Hey Bulldog"
    5. "It's All Too Much"
    6. "All You Need Is Love"

Yay. I'll just stick to watching it when it comes on Nickelodeon again.

    #193 6 years ago
    Quoted from EalaDubhSidhe:

There's the expanded 'soundtrack' album that also has the full versions of the other songs played in the film; either fully, short clips, or just referenced.

From 1999. A longer list for sure. Just like pinball, you won't be able to please everybody.

    1. "Yellow Submarine" Ringo Starr 2:38
    2. "Hey Bulldog" John Lennon (with Paul McCartney) 3:14
    3. "Eleanor Rigby" Paul McCartney 2:06
    4. "Love You To" George Harrison 3:01
    5. "All Together Now" Paul McCartney (with John Lennon) 2:10
    6. "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" John Lennon 3:28
    7. "Think for Yourself" George Harrison 2:18
    8. "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" Paul McCartney (with John Lennon and George Harrison) 2:02
    9. "With a Little Help from My Friends" Ringo Starr 2:44
    10. "Baby, You're a Rich Man" John Lennon 3:03
    11. "Only a Northern Song" George Harrison 3:27
    12. "All You Need Is Love" John Lennon 3:57
    13. "When I'm Sixty-Four" Paul McCartney 2:37
    14. "Nowhere Man" John Lennon (with Paul McCartney and George Harrison) 2:44
    15. "It's All Too Much" George Harrison 6:28

I think these are all false rumors anyway. My guess is it will be The Rutles instead.

"Features never seen before on a pinball machine"

So does this mean we will finally see those new redesigned hinges?

    Quoted from LTG:

Be nice now. Them older farts need lots of fixin.
    LTG : )

No doubt! My 95 year old mother is still wondering when we will see that "Oklahoma" the musical, pinball game.

    #494 5 years ago
    Quoted from JodyG:

I am having a hard time seeing how The Beatles license is going to move me in the ways the person being interviewed is describing. I am seeing a bunch of hype and hyperbole though.

Truth of the matter is although this hobby is comprised of many old farts, many that are making these games and picking these themes are even older farts.

    #496 5 years ago
    Quoted from PinballManiac40:

You are older than most here, so what is your take on it?

My take on it is there are older farts than me making these decisions.

    #501 5 years ago
    Quoted from jwilson:

Remember, Odin is the biggest whiner about old people themes and he bought a BM66.

    Stern knows their demographic.

If nobody says anything and they want this industry to remain a novelty or a joke, that's their choice. Just as it's mine to say what I think about it.

At the time there was nothing else new worth buying. I try as hard as I can to stay enthused with the way it is. But I aint wasting one more dime on it if this is the way it is going to be.

    #504 5 years ago
    Quoted from pin2d:

What are examples of less-old-fart-more-current themes that would work for pinball o-din?

    Hmmm...

    Off road racing.

    Coachella.

    World War III.

    Flight to Uranus.

    Girls of Spring Break.

    #508 5 years ago
    Quoted from Ballypin:

She missed this when she was 38.

When I first started buying pinball machines she said "these are gambling machines!"

    #509 5 years ago
    Quoted from jwilson:

    Stern knows their demographic.

This must be them then. Except all growed up now.

    Quoted from DennisDodel:

My 45 year old son and many of his friends are Beatles fans. My 16 and 18 year old grand kids are the same way. Good music stands the test of time.

    I like the Beatles music.

Hey, I like Frank Sinatra too.

So when do you suppose we will be seeing that "Old Blue Eyes" pinball game?

    #516 5 years ago

I totally get the marketing strategy though.

People sending in videos to be able to purchase a $15k Batman 66 shows the market for 60s nostalgia is alive and well, and those willing to pay the big bucks for it are too. Much more lucrative than their 80s babies counterparts for sure.

If they really wanna go big, they should start going after the elderly senior citizen crowd who have had money socked away for years just waiting for this to happen.

    #519 5 years ago
    Quoted from greenhornet:

    you weren't even born yet

I was maybe two when that pic was taken.

And the teenage girls that would watch us when our parents were out had those hairstyles and wore those clothes.

Wonder how many here even know who Ed Sullivan was.

    Quoted from greenhornet:

there are some beatles songs they might consider 'pinball' music.

    Sure, why not?

    #520 5 years ago

They should definitely include Helter Skelter and have some surreal Manson family clips going on the LCD screen.

    #523 5 years ago

This will probably be the perfect game for the collector that already has Elvis and The Rolling Stones sitting next to each other, and will complete the trio nicely. They should be able to sell just as many too.

    Quoted from pin2d:

I’m very surprised at how many people are complaining about a (possible) Beatles license. It is a huge license that IMO is timeless.

Noone's complaining as long as Benny Goodman gets done next. Now THAT'S timeless.

Maybe you can answer your own question old-timer, didnt you own a BM66?

    Already answered, don't you read?

    Quoted from YeOldPinPlayer:

The success of most performers depends a lot on the culture around them.

The success of the Beatles had a lot to do with countless, endless hours jamming in the seedy clubs of Hamburg before they hit it big. They were a very polished band by then with creativity sweating out of all their pores.

And as they progressed from there, they didn't just stick with the bubble gum rock that made them famous, they revolutionized rock and roll like no other band of the time. Or any since then.

    #542 5 years ago
    Quoted from delt31:

1989 turtles.... Now that will sell like hotcakes and get some real hype behind it.

Sorry, you'll get the 1965 version... and like it!
