Great writeup on a great game with a lot of new ideas mixed with old school EM concepts!

Just a reminder that today (Wed. 9/16/20) is the last day to get the Extended Heist Launch Special Pricing. You can save nearly $1000 on a P3 with Cosmic Cart Racing and buy Ranger in the Ruins with a fraction of the savings. Or you could buy the complete P3 package with every game kit available and save $2000. It's a good opportunity for people to get into the platform and then benefit from this and all other future features and releases.

(Also, Heist is a great game, if I do say so myself).

So, who's gonna tell the truth about what was so fundamentally horrible that caused the delay? What was it that RM couldn't see himself, but pinball enthusiasts could? They can't use COVID as any kind of excuse...if the DR games were this terrible TODAY, how bad must they have been back in March!?

I was kind of wondering the same thing myself. If you're going to launch your whole business based on this stream... don't you have backup plan B, C, and Z in case technology (or pinball!) happens? The correct answer for a healthy, functioning company, is: OF COURSE.

    Yeah that’s the problem...

    #1473 1 year ago

    Nice article.

Those coin-door level speaker grilles are an open invitation for kids on route to smash food into. Wrap around backbox looks cool, but seems ill-suited for routes.

Screened parts information on the back of playfields is great.

I don't need a list of your next 15 pins, deeproot. How about you ship one and we'll go from there?

    #1474 1 year ago

is it just me being pessimistic (or grouchy today) or am I not alone in thinking that deeproot has gotten way too many passes already and should have their act together for the [big] reveal?

I'm also thinking that given the amount of time that passed, to reveal a few photos of just RAZA would make any sane person wonder just what have they been spending their money on for the past 3+ years? hobbiest pinheads are knocking stuff out in a more timely manner

    #1475 1 year ago
    Quoted from j_m_:

I not alone in thinking that deeproot has gotten way too many passes already....

    I don't get this.
deeproot hasn't taken dime one and is blowing through wads of dough trying to make a bulletproof playfield.
Meanwhile the big boys (you know who they are) are still shipping playfields that are likely to be damaged after the first day of play.
If anyone is getting too many passes it is the companies raking the cash in and shipping defective product.

    Hey Jeff

What's the story on the two other games? I can't make out the name of the one furthest to the left but the display and head look to be from the same manufacturer. Also, I cant find any information on a game called Elements and it also appears to be from the same manufacturer. Note the metal speaker type grid in the vertical head trim. Prototypes, future games?

That sculpt does look very nice. It's interesting how the ramp is in pieces and uses what looks like a ramp flap to put the pieces together. Is it just part of the prototype design or can their ramps be partially disassembled? It's always a serious pain to get to a particular spot that requires taking off ramp assemblies.

Honestly, they spend an alarming amount of time making sure the game is easy to work on lol. The glass lift system, the printed components on the underside of the playfield, all the solderless connections they spoke of...

This is fairly common with ramps that can't be thermoformed in a single mold due to stacked features. GOTG has this, as well as Twister...off the top of my head. I have contemplated doing this to get people unobtanium ramps for games which are normally too big for my machine. Hurricane and Mousin' Around come to mind here.

Yeah I sorta wondered if the shape was the reason, but thanks for chiming in and with some examples. I don't think I've owned or worked on a game with ramps like that (at least not that I noticed)

You're exactly right with the volumes Gerry. I've had several messages from people that were surprised by the results of the poll. It is kind of a tough poll to do and have any sort of "accurate" results.

It is also worth noting that that poll was done right after an article on GNR, so that may have skewed voting too, I'm not sure.

We may try to revisit that poll in a different way sometime in the future for more accurate results!
