Great indepth interview. I'm going to take issue with something Joe said, just to clarify for him if he reads this:

Joe, I can vividly recall that time. I would say EVERYTHING negative said on Pinside at that time had EVERYTHING to do with John Popaduik, and the taint left on the whole project.
You did the impossible by bringing a flippable game to Texas, and you and your team deserve all the credit for it. I just think if you think Pinside was being overly negative at the start towards the game and American Pinball, it was 100% on John, his legacy, and his Houdini pinball diorama he tried to pass off as a completed design.
There was also a lot of confusion about exactly when jpop was "fired" from American Pinball, when he was no longer involved. That was not made clear at the start, so the jpop shit tornado continued to twist, even though you had started over.
