"we had been through a lot of different other things we were thinking about working on. One of them was Survivor, it had just come out. And I was a huge Survivor fan…that didn’t get licensed because CBS only had rights to the US, and some crazy English guy had the rights to the rest of the world and there was no dealing with them. So since we could only sell the game in the US, that was a non-starter."

They are in the 40th season, which is the longest running reality show in history. I'd be curious if this would still hold up (especially with LCD). You could have some serious video modes with immunity challenges from the show. The goal could be to start off with a large tribe, and the progression is voting people off.

Sidenote: Jimmy Fallon is a HUGE fan that submits ideas, and one of them made it onto the show

CSI and WPT were pretty big on TV back then IIRC. I could see why they licensed those.

RCT as a pinball machine was a bad idea. I know the computer game is one of the most popular of all time, but the fans of that game are a rather small subset of the population. Sim City as a pinball machine would have made about as much sense .

Ripley's isn't a bad theme in my opinion. I was in my late 20s when that came out and was at least familiar with the show though I am admittedly a nerd.

I'll never understand the thought process that went into making WoF a pinball theme.
