Guys can you believe deal flippers these days?! Already up on eBay! ebay.com link: itm
Quoted from ForceFlow:Honestly, I think most people were thinking about flipping the stuff they didn't want.
I was just joking
Looking at the other listings, I don’t immediately get the sense this seller is a pinhead but someone that resells stuff on eBay from auctions and storage sheds and stuff. The Deeproot subwoofer lot was only subwoofers, not a variety lot.
Were those i3 processors on this same rack? https://mtdauctions.hibid.com/lot/115596099/contents-of-pallet-racks/?q=&ipp=100&ref=catalog
Because the same non-pinball guy that bought all the speakers and some other random stuff got this. The boxes on the lower rack were FULL of complete pop bumper assemblies. The middle rack? Drop target assemblies, slingshot assemblies, etc. If they'd have taken a picture of what was in those boxes.
Quoted from Inside:I think 350 went for like $12k. Wasn’t it PBL Terry that bought them?
No the $12k lot was 354: https://mtdauctions.hibid.com/lot/115596103/contents-of-pallet-racks/?cpage=4&ipp=100&q=&ref=catalog
Where you could actually see all the parts! 350 had probably an equal amount of value but completely hidden.
If it's any solace to Terry on this random reseller getting all these parts, the idiots got them listed on eBay for more than PBL charges.

This was the only Yukon Yeti mockup I saw for anyone interested in that "Whitewater sequel". The stairs are a ball stepper. My brother got a wooden mockup of the mech in a separate lot.
Not sure what the playfield next to it was. Or who got this lot.

I dug back through the auction listings and FIRE & BRIMSTONE wasn't anywhere in there that I could find. I think that unmarked whitewood I posted above is a version of it. It was in JPOP & Barry's shared office.

So I found out the stupid Fire & Brimstone cabinet got tossed into Lot 47, which my brother purchased after the bidder backed out (against my recommendation, for the record!)
Someone appears to have robbed the playfield mock-up and the actual valuable parts that were inside the cabinet. The auction guy admitted he changed the listing and neglected to inform my brother. What an absolute and apropos for deeproot shit show LOL. I could still use that cabinet but do I really drive to San Antonio for a stripped lower cab?
Quoted from pinballlife:I got at least 95% of all my parts back. I'm very happy with the results.
Terry.
That’s amazing!
The eBay reseller got one of the other racks that had a bunch of parts on it. Tons of rubbers and posts and coil sleeves, but seemingly a bunch of mechs too. I wouldn’t be surprised if he stole mechs from your other shelves though.
That sucks. That makes both Fire & Brimstone mock-ups mysteriously missing since the foam core one was stolen too.
As for The Who and Black Hole playfields. I was gonna try to take some better pics. I can say, since I packed it up, Black Hole is very bare and not much underneath. The Who definitely had some major headway done on it. Lots underneath. There’s two other playfields not pictured yet, but I haven’t been back to my brother’s to sift through it yet.

It seems to be the most advanced version
[quoted image]
Is this Fire and Brimestone? It’s hard to tell because the one art mock up is similar yet very different.
Definitely looks like a version of F&B, but I don’t recall seeing that around. Who took this pic with it all lit up?

So I wonder who scavenged the parts out of the Fire & Brimstone cabinet later on Wednesday or Thursday morning. Also looks like @twazu's playfield was still there at the time of the above video.

(note: the pics I posted previously were rotated 180 degrees. The pfs were laying against the wall like that when I took the pics.)

Nice! Any chance they took the other mock up (but more importantly to me, the parts that were in the cabinet)?
Some more photos of the Black Hole playfield. I would strongly wager this was just a mock-up and the intent was a moving playfield, though this one is screwed in place since no mech to move it was probably ever made. I also speculate that the standup targets would have been able to raise and lower into the playfield, to allow for the ball to roll over them “standard” play to hit ramps and stuff. The two stand ups in the middle would’ve been blocked by the u-turn shot though.

Rotated 180 degrees below.
[quoted image]
Hence why I speculate the standup targets would be able raise/lower, like the stand ups in AFM or others. We got at least one mock-up of a mech like that (though I’m not sure why, since the mech already exists and so much of these are built with Williams and Stern parts from PBL and Marco).
That horseshoe does block a lot more than I realized looking at it flipped around. Yipes.
Yeah, this one looks like a very rough draft and we all know Barry was a talented designer.
Quoted from toyotaboy:either the cables are long enough for it to turn 180, then turn back the other direction.. or if it needs to continously spin 360 there are spinning power connectors for such an application. think of those twist connectors people used to put on wall phones so the cord never got twisted.
something like this could easily handle coil power (the 4 conductor could also handle GI lighting). If there was insert lighting I'm sure someone makes more conductors.

I found several of these in a box of junk parts from JPOP and Barry’s trash pile. LOL
Quoted from pinballguru:I found it odd that nobody shot photos of the playfield during the auction preview.
Is this it? Didn't you get this lot @keroppi?
pasted_image (resized).pngIt’s not the Lucha Libre game, which was titled Masked Republic (Intended to be Rey Mysterio licensed, at least per the artwork).
Masked Republic actually looks like the most fun layout of them all, imo. I really like the fist mechs that punch the ball away from the outlanes.

The giant metal Ferris wheel fell out of the Machine Age playfield while we were moving things and slammed onto the ground. I think it did more damage to the concrete than the “mech”.
Quoted from Tranquilize:I don't think so...

Gladiator, not Gladiators.

(Photo from the Knapp Arcade article. This was the playfield I really wanted but unfortunately it was already picked up the day before we got down there. I have no idea who bought it.)
I can say that I did look over the Machine Age playfield when I was loading it and it wasn’t labeled nor had any identifiers anywhere. I thought it was a version of The Who at first. We didn’t know what it was called until that Knapp Arcade article got posted.
Quoted from ForceFlow:A time warner cable charge for $2777? Even for commercial service, that's a huge number.
It’s not unrealistic for an enterprise business level account from Time Warner / Spectrum.
Quoted from blueberryjohnson:Glad to be involved in any and all of these wonderful projects. However, when we talk about casting, that makes sense for the made-for-tv min-series. The documentary will presumably involve the real people as themselves. And maybe this guy:

You know... I'm thinking Richard Dreyfuss would be great for it.

Yeah this guy bought a couple of the racks of parts and some other random lots on auction day. He is just an auction reseller, no prior pinball knowledge. It’s weird that so much of it is just now getting listed. He’d listed a bunch of stuff back in April shortly after the sale too. He had multiple pallets worth of parts.
Quoted from TreyBo69:Did we ever identify this white wood?[quoted image]
Pulling back several pages in the thread, just snapped a better pic of this for you TreyBo69
I thought it was an early RAZA but I dunno. It’s MDF board, so clearly a test of some kind.
