I think all who lost money with JPop hope DeepRoot survive and get something back from there money.
So every troll in this tread don't care you get your money back.
Get a life.

Don't forget Jaws just like the rest of the old crap.
I hope non of the above movies except BTTF makes it.
Non off the young, let say till 35 knows this movies.
Everybody says Goonies.
Its the only Steven Spielberg movie i havend seen.
I look to it hahaha, if you live in the sixties it was a great movie.
A great movie won't always make a great pinball for shure.
So stop calling every movie that excist.
If they where great they had make a pinball already from them.

Alrighty, someone is clearly looking for attention, time to stop handing it out. Enjoy lighting candles at your jpop shrine kid.

Yes you are in every new game tread.

Quoted from gstellenberg:

Correction... There's:
Lexy Lightspeed - Escape From Earth
Lexy Lightspeed - Secret Agent Showdown
Cosmic Cart Racing
Cannon Lagoon
Grand Slam Rally
Hoopin' It Up
ROCs
Barnyard
HeadsUp
I've heard very few people claim to not enjoy the innovations. On the contrary, the innovations and the industry-leading price per game are the things people seem to love the most. The biggest knocks on the P3 are the lack of popular theme and the need for better art design (which we hear and have taken big steps to improve).
Back on topic, DR is starting with one thing that we didn't start with... money. Good on them. They've leveraged that money to pull big teams of people together, and that seems to be a major reason why everybody's got so many expectations for their products. Whether or not they turn that into corporate success and fun playing pinball machines... we all wait to see.

Now your "system" is up and running go to the next level.
Buy yourself a big license.
AND SELL A SHIT LOAD OFF GAMES.
Or try to sell a few games next two years and rollover and die.

Boring.
Lets see some tiny winy piece off pinball playfield from one Deeproot design.
Instead of this crap.

10 year playfield warranty wow......
They must use some sort off plastic playfield with on top a upsite down printed mylar.

10 year playfield warranty wow......Hammer proof.
They must use some sort off plastic playfield with on top a upsite down printed mylar or something like that.
Can't wait to see how it looks like from inside the machine.

200 patents!!!!
Maybe a "ONE" coil pinball machine.
A SINGLE 20 steps magnet motor with cables that wired most megs, less coils and wires and cost.
Thats how you can make cheap pinball machines.
YOU HEAR IT HERE FIRST FROM ME.

Quoted from DennisDodel:

Maybe Formica?

Its not easy to mount megs on it.

I hope not ist a zizzle game for 3.5k
Or a standard machine voor 8k.
They sell games from 3.5k to 15k.
Can't wait to see how the pricing is.

#5396 4 years ago

Great layout.
Like the superwide hires display and graphics.
Can have more colors on the playfield and/or less green.
Looks like a solid "90's" game.
cant wait to play.

#5653 4 years ago

WOW..... now i like it even more after seeing it in action (youtube).

#6114 4 years ago

i think there is almost no big name designer that can make a complete pinball machine alone.
Maybe John Borg because he does megs also.
Homebrew builders have to do everything themselves.

Production of Deeproot games has not started yet i think.
So the corona virus give them extra time with minimal lost.

#8256 4 years ago

After 8256 posts we still don't know if we ever can buy a deeproot game.

#8460 3 years ago

I think its time to closedown this Boutique Deeproot tread.
AND OPEN a orignal Deeproot game manufacturers
link on pinside.
Because Raza is ready to ship.
So show us this Damm machine hahaha.
I can"t wait anymore.

Quoted from John_I:

So is it true that Nordman is out at Deeproot and in with CGC? That can't be a good omen if so.

I think his designs for deeproot are ready and paid.
So its time to go on.
Steve Richie can't live from his designs, he works in the Stern factory between designs to pay the bill.

#9153 3 years ago

Jack was pissed-off Stern was taken out a lot of stuff for the same price.
He would do it better so he starts his own company.
Now he puts every thing back in again and now you pay almost the double as the (bare) Stern pro.
So tell me what did JJP beter than Stern.
So lets see if deeproot can build a decent (pro) game for a "Kia" price.

#9181 3 years ago
Quoted from PinballManiac40:

This is still a Deeproot thread. I dont care about history from any other manufacturer. Can't we move on already from this?

Yes your right sorry, but there is nothing to move on at the moment.

#9182 3 years ago
Quoted from benheck:

Yes I would have called it Bible Adventures.
And it would have been much better rules-wise than Viking or Greeks because in western culture people are far more familiar with the Bible OH SNAP!

Not for me, if i hear bible i"am out.
I don"t believe in religion, let alone a pinball machine about GOD.
But i respect everyone who does and like a bible adventure pinball.

#9184 3 years ago
Quoted from PinballManiac40:

Plenty. Whose games are you most interested in.. Barry Oursler, Dennis Nordman, JPOP?
Dennis has 2 unlicensed titles. I hadn't heard much about Barry's games whether any of them would be licensed. JPOP has MG, RAZA, AIW in process as well as 2 others that Robert mentioned one of these is licensed.

I like them all to see.
I always believed in Deeproot.
We have to wait a little longer.

2 weeks later
#9813 3 years ago

I hope they have once in a year a non cornerstone game for kia prices (like they announced) something like 3999 so there is also something for the casual home players that don't want to spend 6.5 to 12 K.
that can also intresting for a arcade when covid is over.

#9917 3 years ago

If they accomplish only half they promised Deeproot wil take of 25 % from Stern and 50% from the rest of the other pinball company's. If the prices are right its shakes the whole pinball industry.

#9924 3 years ago
Quoted from toyotaboy:

You're probably thinking of Heighway. Not only were entire playfields swappable in under a minute, you could pull the flipper mechs out quickly since there were cutouts of the flippers (no more removing flipper bats). Their idea was that instead of replacing coil sleeves, coil stops, or springs on location, you would simply take out an entire assembly and work the entire assembly on a bench.
https://www.pinballnews.com/news/heighwayoursler.html

Yeah so what, if the game is shit (i had a highway game) it doesn't matter how innovative it is.
The wait is almost over tomorrow is the day, and i hope its a good one.

#10008 3 years ago

I like the superwide display looks gorgeous.
Hope its on the cheap version also.

#10039 3 years ago

The closer we come to the reveal, the more we speculate hahaha.
I always believed in deeproot and now in the last hours from revealing I am not going to change my mind.

#10048 3 years ago
Quoted from Krupps4:

But Spooky has a proven track record and Deeproot does not.

Yes Spooky games getting better and better, but still feals like a serial build homebrew game to me.
Soon we know if Deeproot can live upon the quality like Jjp and the rest.

#10053 3 years ago
Quoted from rai:

Spooky is what they are. They never said they wanted to compete with Stern or shake up the industry.

Yes thats true and the quality is good.

#10352 3 years ago

Truer the deeproot delay all Stern Avengers pinball machines are now sold out.

#10746 3 years ago

Ditch the stupid backbox and lcd lockbar.
Keep the first proto look.
If they want a extra display put it in the apron
Use the new steep cabinet to make room for a bigger under glass world (and the apron lcd).

#11258 3 years ago
Quoted from epthegeek:

Working on a sick new unreleased Deeproot game in their point and click programming interface![quoted image]

wow great, do you have a sharper image.

#11260 3 years ago

It looks like the "pro and le gets" the same gameplay.
Only different backbox cabinet finishes and extra speakers.
just like the old days.

#11270 3 years ago

Barry oursler "old"games are very innovative and have alot of industry first megs and complex layouts.
So his games can be great.
Raza will do the trick for now.
I like JPop games so lets see wat brings the future.
I think the lockbar display is okay now i know the meaning. I like the superwide display.
I prefer a standard backbox.
We all like the b/w games from the 90's so the "feel good" quality is coming back.
After all dose years the waiting is almost over.

#11651 3 years ago

Deeproot looks to be very popular if you look how many people are in this tread.

#12177 3 years ago
Quoted from russdx:

Ah yeah I mean an actual lcd the shape of the apron like you find these custom sized displays in car dashes etc.. not a square but literally shape if the apron the technology is there just very expensive at the moment.

Not so expensive as you think.

#13405 3 years ago

I was wrong on the pinbar. I like it now. There is a lot of potential that it can do for a pinball machine. I think we have to get used to it, like the big Jjp display that everybody hated it in the beginning because it was to big so there was no translite. The game looks like a solid 90 game.
I still don't like the back box floating in the air. So a pro game will do it for me. Now I want to know the cheap Kia pricing they where talking for years.

#13452 3 years ago

Wow.... THAT LOOKS GREAT.
Any prices, I can find them.

#13460 3 years ago

4999 for a arcade version will blow the pinball market upside down, if it's true.

#13470 3 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I know these are still just prototypes and production is years away....
But are they really gonna go with the “solderless” idea whenever they finalize production models?
Connectors are the single biggest point of failure in the history of solid state pinball. I don’t think adding dozens of them is a great idea.
Better stock up on those $1,000 extended service plans.
Also I hope they just build shorter legs for the front rather than ship with the front levelers jacked up. It looks silly.

You talk like a negative Stern/jjp fanboy.

#13473 3 years ago
Quoted from NoQuarters:

Exactly what I was thinking - solderless ? How many crappy molex or other new "innovative" connectors they come up with going to do ?
Agree with Levi - that sounds like a recipe for troubles.

Al Stern note boards are solderles, they have connectors. No one is complaining about them.

#13478 3 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

No it won’t.
People aren’t going to stop buying games they actually want with playfield designs that aren’t horrible just to save $400.

Nobody wouldn't buy any machine from whatever brand if they ain't like.

#13480 3 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

If you go solderless at coils that’s definitely no bueno.

Wms has solderless coil connections.
YOU ALL TALK CRAP that isn't true.

image-43 (resized).jpgimage-43 (resized).jpg
#13484 3 years ago
Quoted from Chuckwebster:

that looks like a playfield swap by someone. I can't say for sure if WMS ever tried using spade connectors for flippers, but if they did it was a failed experiment and they switched back to soldering them on.

No it's no playfield swap, it's a wms pinball 2000. A no again they didn't switch back why? they closed

#13488 3 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Not sure why it’s hard to understand how solder is a better connection than a connector.

Haha. That’s because they went out of business.

It wasn't the question what is better (solder is) The question was if there where connector in use on coils, yes both pinball 2000 used it.

#13489 3 years ago
Quoted from John_I:

The do use solderless *especially* where there is constant vibration. I dare anyone to show me a soldered pin on a connector in a car or a SpaceX rocket for that matter. What happens is that the solder wicks up into the strands of the wire and makes it really stiff. Where the solder stops, the wire is flexible again. That interface between the flexible and stiff part of the wire is a natural place that it will break off after being exposed to vibration.
For pinball coils, I like the spade connectors Williams used on later games or a short pigtail with a molex connector. Nothing wrong with soldering direct to the coil either, but this conversation is about "connectors".

Thanks well said, your English is 1000 times better than mine.

I always believed in Deeproot.
Don't ask my why but my filosofische mind never is wrong.
When the first games are ready for sale the most negative people will shut up.
The game looks AWESOME.

#14359 3 years ago

I was gonna do a Cecile b Demille/Michael Bay/God of War like Bible game. But then I made the mistake of mentioning the idea to Robert and here we are...

Ben@ you stil can do your game with Spooky.
A IDEA IS NOT A DESIGN.
DON'T LOOK BACK, LOOK INTO THE FUTURE.
And it will clear your mind.

#14623 3 years ago

When Raza is deliverd next year (and sales are closed) sundenly everybody wants one just like JJP POTC.
So if you order one and let it stay NIB you can make some profit next year.

#14626 3 years ago

It's always possible for a small run later.
But parts for a small run are more expensive.
That's Why they don't rerun Raza, it's cheaper to run a new game in higher quantity.
So Raza will be the most collectable game from Deeproot in the future.Take my words.

#14639 3 years ago
Quoted from Mr68:

Cosmic Carnival is the most collectable game from Suncoast Pinball.

Yeah but that thing looks like a homebrew game.
Deeproot is more like wms.

Quoted from greenhornet:

sound bite from an interview introducing dennis nordman as new senior game designer at american pinball :
"the reason i bounce around is because the people ive been with havent been able to produce a pinball game. so i was with deeproot for two years .. i did three really awesome games for them, but i never had an engineer the entire time. i just couldnt make any more progress .. no mechanisms, no anything .. i just got so frustrated .. i just wanted to go some place where i could get a game done."
[quoted image]

The big problem with foam core builders like jpop and Denis Nordman is that they only create half ideas. Why? because they can't build a Meg or playfield on their own.
They only have ideas and need a team to complete a playing Whitewood.
That's Why Stern is so successful.
They have John borg who can complete a Whitewood on his own including megs. Same with George gomez he's the king at Stern for the end designs for al games and megs.
Nordmans games had great themes but layout is not better than Balcers designs.
So I doubt anything changes at AP.
They only need a triple A license.

#15254 3 years ago
Quoted from JodyG:

This entire post is horse crap, not based in any fact whatsoever.

Jpop couldn't build a working game alone.
Dennis also, he said himself"there was nobody that can make my megs".

#15256 3 years ago

Long story short, how more you can do yourself the more a pinball design team can make your vision com true.
Because they see what you want and can make it better and more reliable.

#15261 3 years ago
Quoted from NoMonkey:

I'm genuinely curious; What exactly is a 'meg'?

Mechanics I mean, meg is dutch.
