Ach!! For <insert your deity>'s sake. dR. Please put something out for us to talk sense and get excited over, otherwise I will spend all my saved-up cash on a Wonka.

Quoted from Tranquilize:Also, no comma before "but" as it is not functioning as a coordination conjunction, just a plain old conjunction.
Just to add to the grammar mix, a comma before a coordinating conjunction is perfectly fine if it aids the readability of the text - especially when the conjunction is coordinating longer independent clauses. It allows the reader to take a 'mental breath'.
I don't know whether to buy a Wonka or wait for deeproot to come out with something. I have a blank space in my line-up, and some cash in my pinball pot (a bit goes in from my wages each month!) Hmm. I just wish they'd say *something* more than they have so far!
Quoted from PinMonk:I'd wait. Wonka was completely underwhelming for me.
Yep I'll take that advice, I think. I know it's early code - especially with the rather underwhelming movie clip integration - but I have a DI and I'm not sure Wonka goes far beyond that. Apart from the rotating trapdoor.
OTOH, look at what happened with BM66!
On balance, Vireland, I think I'll wait.
Quoted from Tranquilize:Commas are required with coordinating conjunctions, no exceptions
I agree with everything you said there, Tranquilize, except the bit above. "Bob liked pinball but he played it like a fool." That's a compound sentence with a coordinating conjunction (two independent clauses with finite verbs) but doesn't really need a comma. IMHO anyway - it could be a UK/US difference thing. Potato/potato/etc.
deeproot - how about releasing some tasty information pronto, otherwise this thread will degrade further into grammar?!?!
It's all looking a lot more legit now refunds are coming through. Genuinely pleased for all of you who got refunds. Brilliant news - and this will go a long way towards improving dR's public image. From a PR perspective, surely now is the time for Robert to reveal more about his games? Are you there, Robert?
"in refining our platform to be the best it can be."
If you keep making it perfect, it will end up broken.
Quoted from John_I:The way it is now with the lip all the way around it makes a perfect drink holder and will also catch spills and pool them on top of touch screen.
Exactly. How can it be that no-one at dR spotted this, and then came forward to design teams/management? Come on!
All IMHO, initially looks good to me, although the software does look 'early' and I'm sure they will develop this.
One thing - is purchasing modes from the pinbar the only way to start them? I'm thinking that your average Joe walking up to a machine in a bar might not realise he could start a mode, and just instead flail around stacking up mode points (or whatever currency starts a mode). He might then leave the machine at the end of his game without starting a mode/multiball which would have made the game exciting for him - and might not come back.
I'm speaking from experience, as I have family members who play my machines and haven't a clue what they're doing - but are completely wowed when a cool mode/multiball starts; and they love it. If they had to press a screen to start the mode, I don't think they would get that.
Quoted from blueberryjohnson:I think it's just a fun drawing with lots of random characters and not that every character is meant to be something included in a pinball game.
I think.
Got to say, that flying turkey with drumsticks sticking out the engines, though.
Oh dear. Must confess to be taken in during the early days. I was on dr's side (and looking forward to new machines) from the point when refunds came through for the Zidware folk, right up until the VIP tour when things headed decidedly downwards. Would I have bought a RAZA? No, because I thought it was shit. But up until that point I would have considered one of their later machines. Massive kudos to those who spotted this way before I did, and huge condolences to everyone who lost out - including the investors.
Quoted from mbwalker:I bet it would need yearly DLC fees to get all the features.
Yes I didn't like that. Pinball on subscription. "This multiball has been cancelled because your credit card was declined."
Quoted from SnowGalvin:Got any other pinball predictions and/or hopes (guilty pleasures included)?
Whitewater remake. Pleasepleaseplease
