Don't let the possibility that dr wont show a game TPF stop you from going. I hear this show is tremendous and hope to attend some year.
Quoted from kdecgp:Is a backbox even necessary anymore?
Funny as I was going to say this as well as thete is no display. You simply hook it up to your 36" led hyper thin screen.
Quoted from DennisDodel:$1300.00 NIB at the '98 Expo. At least 10 as I remember. I passed as did my son. Game was considered a dog at the time.
Local alley got two of them at $1895.00 each
Quoted from DennisDodel:No CV playfields but I did buy 12 each of Fire!, Space Station, and F-14 playfields that Roger Sharpe rescued from the trash and brought to one of the Expos. 10 bucks each. Still bundled in stacks of four as I remember. Then I won a raffle for 12 more playfields! Every friend and relative of mine had them hanging on their basement walls. At least until they started selling for 200+ bucks each. Then they started disappearing.
There were also stacks of translites for the above games plus Big Guns. They were about 2 bucks each I think. Also complete playfield plastics sets. Crazy times.
I was in on a bunch of the Champion Pub playfields at $ 20.00 back then. They were rejects and I never could find any issue with them.
Quoted from ThisNotes4U:Is pinball hard, I forgot?[quoted image]
Who made this whitewood?
I see John but cannot read the last name
Quoted from cjmjmm2006:Saw this today. Thoughts?[quoted image][quoted image]
Advanced Mecha Godzilla.
It would be great if they brought the new games to Pinball Expo, but understand wanting to reveal in their neck of tbe woods first.
Quoted from wamoc:I'd so go for slate. For pool tables there are 2 kinds, slate and crap. The slate will not warp or dent ever, it just weighs a ton.
I have seen 2 instances of Valley pool table single piece tables slate with slight warp. You could not truly level it, and Valley reps came out and could not believe it.
Quoted from fanuminski:I haven't seen dimpling on my ping pong table... maybe pinballs should not be steel
and we should be using ping pong balls. (of course, smaller ones)
Thats it, from here on they must use power balls..
Quoted from aeneas:And where will all the dirt go thats now usually on the playfield ?
These can be made smaller
Quoted from Shapeshifter:That would be a bad idea.
A very bad idea.
This prototype has a Mirco playfield......
Lets hope the clear is good!!
Quoted from Lermods:not understanding why the ball is dropping in front of the left sling instead of the inlane, what benefit does that provide? One of the benefits of hitting a ramp is to score the inlane shot. Also, how much wear is that area going to see with no ability to protect it like a cliffy switch protector would. will be kind of an eyesore when it's worn to wood like you see with most switch slots over time.
looks like a cool game, but lots of unknowns right now.
I like the change in return. I think it will make for more challenge instead of the everyday same ole. We're kinda spoiled when everything is done for us.
Quoted from wolfemaaan:It would need to be “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly”
Instant buy
So much could be used with this classic film!!
Quoted from o-din:Sign of the times when a piece of crap topper is no longer included from some companies but is a $600- $800 optional add on.
Kind of like some new cars that do not include a spare tire....
Quoted from littlecammi:Now wouldn't that be something to really put deeproot in the big leagues, if they had both the production version of RAZA and (at least a prototype of) Harry Potter on display for taking orders at TPF?
And don't forget, Robert announces DeepRoot purchased HomePin.
Quoted from DS_Nadine:Who says that they haven't? - Actually they said they'll do a mix and have a beloved 80's license and work on mechs that could (relieably) generate sparks and smoke, wich started the whole BTTF discussion.
How major it'll be we'll see.
I'd bet on Battlestar Galactica.
It'll be perhaps the first self cleaning game.
Quoted from DS_Nadine:So here's something to speculate:
Will the Deeproot reveal and/ or TPF be cancelled due to Corona?
GOGOGO!!!
Hope for no cancellation
Quoted from Roostking:Have you even been to these open air markets in asia? You can buy freshly skinned dog, cash and carry!
Seen footage of them . Pretty scary , but I understand and realize other countries enjoy other foods. No time to remove fur , burn it off...
Quoted from mbeardsley:They are going to talk about 13 releases...and how they won't be having them.
Could it be 13 versions of 1 release??
Quoted from wrb1977:I completely agree and would have taken the money myself, but I’ve never been much of a gambler. I do think this will still work out for those that opted for the pins.
Steve Miller band summed it nicely, "Take the money and run".
Quoted from Inpw:As inappropriate as it may be, I find it hard to understand that the general expectation would be for somebody to lose their job over this. It just seems way out of proportion.
As well as Something that is posted online say 15 years ago and that persons views changed to a better , but still gets lambasted over it....and loses job or endorsements.
Has DeepRoot set another date for their games? I have not followed close to the thread and the one date I know was 6/2019. They show a raza and after that I don't know much .
Quoted from Ericpinballfan:Thats All, your up to date.
Texas may be under some lockdowns by Monday. So your right here.
Thank you!
Quoted from littlecammi:Freudian slip? (Assuming you meant to type another date.)
Whoops , fixed that . Thanks.
Quoted from Mr68:I see it as a neutral omen for Deeproot.
Nordman is a hired gun and I mean that in a very good way. Since the closing of Williams, Bally, Midway, he's worked for Stern, Heighway, Spooky, Jersey Jack and Multimorphic before Deeproot and now at CGC. He also designed a game for Valley Dynamo and I only mention that to allow some heads to explode.
I remember Pinside having a meltdown with conspiracies and doom predictions after Nordman left Jersey Jack. Turns out his contract with JJ had simply expired and there was no drama. Pure Pinside. LOL
With the exception of Heighway Pinball, Nordman quietly moved along from all of those companies, including Deeproot.
I admire his nomadic style and look forward to seeing what he produces at CGC.
That's a lot of non disclosures to sign.
Quoted from seenev:Just checking in after all this time... Has deeproot given up?
Makes you wonder what really is going on under that roof.....
Quoted from Ericpinballfan:Robert is still sorting springs and wondering what this coil goes too.
Let's shake down Dennis Nordman and see if we can get him to spill the beans!!
The thing is Stern still managed Turtles ( just a bit late) American Pinball has in production Hot Wheels. Deep Root debuted their game in November 2019, some 8 months prior . I understand the covid thing , not sure offhand how long Texas was in a " lockdown" before , as each state was different.
Quoted from denoument:September 21, 2020 B[...] deeproot

I forgot Jon was working for them . I , too want to see his next title. He definately has some good games under his belt.

Got a bit of Wicos Af-Tor , the head on pegs.
a31bae9b52fd8fd025ba5c0e64936c425a2557cb (resized).pngQuoted from TreyBo69:I honestly don't know. Casinos are too depressing for me to enter.
Good to hear you're not mad at your money.
Quoted from Tranquilize:Who needs a backbox these days. Just the screen would be fine. Easier to transport. Put the saved money into mechs and quality.
This is what will happen with no backbox.
Quoted from Wolfmarsh:Those screens in refrigerators make me laugh. Such a waste of money.
And if you cannot open the door to see what you might need grocery wise , that is hilariously ridiculous.
Quoted from CoreyStup:GE has a vent hood/screen combo. Runs apps.

I love that its "integrated" with Digiorno, whatever that means.
This cat is gonna get in trouble not watching the food cook...
Quoted from spfxted:Yes, that's me in my 80's Corvette! Gad!...what happened to that guy??
[quoted image]
Tom Savini is that you?
Quoted from iceman44:Poor Chris Farley didn’t make it. Love that guy and his movies
Any of you keyboard warriors want to lay down a bet on whether or not DR actually makes RAZA before they go bankrupt?
Now since this is the “reality thread “ does anyone want to step up and make some $$?
It’s easy money right? Lol
I doubt anyone has the balls but hey, I’m willing and waiting. I like to gamble
Quoted from LTG:Keep the money grubbing relatives from breaking in anyway looking for anything to steal.
LTG : )
Rich parents who have kids with "addictions"
Quoted from spfxted:Maybe not. They are just taking off his mask so they can give him the kiss that transforms him into a Merman. Then they take him to their lair and live happily ever after. ....at least that's how I see it...
Clean up on Mermen can be messy.
Quoted from rai:I haven’t read this whole thread. What’s the current state of affairs with DR?
Check here for all your Deep Root needs...
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/tech-tom-issues-1/page/33#post-6177646
Checking in and seeing if there was an update. Looking to be nonewhatsoever . DeepRoot just needs to hit the flush button and be done.
I do hope the people who are owed a game get theirs so they can put this debacle behind.
Quoted from vdojaq:Please , by all means, provide us with those sales numbers.
Dialed in sold so shitty that they have considered a retheme for it. Doesn't mean it will happen, but it was on the table.
Show us the numbers. I'm curious to see.
Quoted from c508:I completely forgot about the “5 Days of Deeproot”!
This should be changed to 'The five deceptions of Deeproot'
Quoted from Mr68:That wasn't a Pinball News or TWIP article. It was a post by a Pinsider using his cell phone for pictures.
If you guys want to get caught up on over two years worth of videos, you will find that Haggis has accumulated a butt load of expensive manufacturing equipment and will be machining many of their own parts. Everything from brackets to playfield inserts.
Haggis has also been vetted by Planetary Pinball to reproduce Fathom and that lends a lot of credibility in my view.
I do agree, 50 Fathoms a month is an aggressive goal and they will need to prove themselves on that.
Attached are some Google images I grabbed of Haggis's new facility most likely taken before they moved in. 103 Atlantic Drive Keysborough, 3173 Australia
Back on topic. Note the large truck delivery door that Deeproot doesn't have. [quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
That to picture reminds me of Pinball Life. Upstairs party area, long wall of shelving. Open area for dual row of pinball machines set up.
Quoted from chad:T-Minus 48 days....
Time goes too quickly . Hopefully good news soon??
Quoted from toyotaboy:This thread really took a wrong turn all of the sudden
I was just going to mention this.
Made a note for the week 19th July alleged announcement. Picking up popcorn.
Let it rip Octo Robert!!!
Quoted from Lounge:Those cars out front must have been lawyers.
Movie props more like it....
Quoted from MrBally:Great news for Barry O. and his Food Truck game. I found the perfect place to have them built right here in Las Vegas.
In case Barry can't get experts John the Pop or the Great; I'm sure he can poach some Bally & Williams production and procurement experts as they are only six miles away at Scientific Games....
[quoted image][quoted image]
A well known and Fancy car makes another appearance!
Quoted from greatwichjohn:Drinking lots of beer tonight since I have nothing to work on Deeproot pinball wise. Looks like everyone is going to build & finish stuff on their own.
John by thinking out loud, you're giving away all your secrets.....Stop.
