Quoted from rubberducks:

Can't believe no-one has commented on this yet:
******TWIP: Has pinsider Applejuice been paid in full for his work with Zidware? Is he owed a Magic Girl game?
dr: We have not heard from Applejuice. According to Zidware records that we have seen, Applejuice was paid over $100k, and has been in material breach of several terms of his agreement with Zidware for some time.*******
This does not exactly have the ring of truth to it ..... much like some of their other statements.
applejuice care to dignify this with a response?

Hello,

I have only just seen this on the TWIP site (yes i find out this type of thing second hand it seems on a public website....) , and to say the very least am quite shocked to be honest. I have no idea where they've got the 100k figure from, or why the tone is so aggressive???

I was contracted for over 2 years from August 2012 to August 2014 (if memory serves) but i started in June 2012 and i pulled the plug in May 2014 after being 3 months behind on invoice payments. I had 4 visits to Chicago during that time. My contract had a 2 year gag clause in it which i upheld and I even returned all my prototype assets in return for John paying up on the 3 months left which he never did of course.

This type of blatant lie and random statements is just really bizarre. All i've ever wanted was to be paid up in full for what i did and receive a game. That's it nothing more. I even created the magicgirlcode.org site and helped out owners on my own time with issues as i want this game to be a good one. Feel like i've being kicked in the nackers again.... !!

If it comes to it, then i'll just publish all my invoices with the dates and amounts, as i still have all my audited records!

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Did Zidware/John at least pay for your flights over here?! A couple meals here and there?

Yes I think I’ve mentioned before I was paid for awhile as I worked on the projects for 2 years or so and flights, meals for trips were covered otherwise it would have been a non starter. It was the last 3 months that was the problem and why I pulled the plug early on the contract. Unfortunately at that time it was was my main source of income so when the 3 months didn’t materialise I was forced to sell around half my pin collection (7 games iirc)

It’s all documented on this flippin
Podcast when I chatted with tommy after the nda ended

Quoted from flynnibus:

Customers bought into a boutique product model from a guy with zero capacity or business to actual deliver on the sales promises.

All said with the benefit of hindsight. At the time, from being involved and working with john, nobody had a concern that John couldn't do it, as none of the information now available was known about in public. All people who backed the projects did so based on Johns games made during the 90s at williams. Most of which are high rated games. I myself, left my old job and went to work with him based on this information to. To be fair to John, he did create some nice original games, but with only a few employees working at zidware and us all forced to work in silos the projects ran off course and 1 person couldn't hold it all together.

Quoted from andre060:

Thanks for the reminder, that date is coming up fast! I couldn't find the full terms anymore, looks like they have been pulled down. What do claimants get if the games aren't delivered by then?

Way back machine. A standard internet service

Quoted from iceman44:

Apparently John took deposits on a "Space Mission X" game that is part of the claim?

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I’m pretty sure there was a point where John would promise anybody any game they wanted with any features they wanted within any time frame they wanted and he would accept a cash deposit for it.

Space Mission X is/was a real game. There is/were at least 2 prototype games as far as i remember. How do i know this?

I was there when we came up with the concept and started working on them. I believe i actually came up with the name for the game to. John at this time was pretty open to sharing concepts and thoughts, brainstorming ideas etc. Myself and John both wanted to create a game that was at a different price point and style than the other games that were in development. We wanted to make something that was more of a throwback to the 80s games from williams and bally like 8 ball deluxe, fathom, firepower etc. This was in 2013 i think, and is what later became the modern street level game concept. His vision was always to make a long term company, not just a 1 off game, so yes there were other titles that were in development other than MG and were being worked on in unison. For me working on 3 games at once on hardware and software (in parts) was not easy, but something that had a lot of satisfaction. We also had started to get other people to work on code and hardware to, so this point in time was a positive one.

I was supposed to be sent a space mission x cab, (to house the mg prototype playfield, instead of the striker extreme stern cab i was using originally), which i'm still sad about not receiving, as the cab art was my favourite of the 3. All the cabs were a std shape and design.

I've learned through hard experience it's easy to razzle dazzle, or even show a prototype game. None of that matters until manufacturing is pumping out games in quantity.

'razzle dazzle' - > such a great phrase and one that fits so often perfectly !!

Quoted from Keroppi:

Now that the dust has settled, let's everyone post what we have won, in the hopes of helping each other out with parts. I bought way more than I needed in the hopes of getting my 2 games as complete as I reasonably can...a couple of the metal lots went past my limits though.
I will be looking for a couple of the wide displays, and have probably *most* things to build up the cabinets, including a lot of purple metal that was probably for magic girl. I will have multiple raw cut whitewoods available, and I will also have random boards available, and will be selling LEDs a plenty to the homebrew peeps.
Also, if any winners or anyone in the area want the big office desk, it's yours...I bought that lot for the playfields.
Here is my haul:

The is awesome. Well done on the auction wins. I would totally love to build a RAZA playfield for home-brew use to complete my zidware journey. I'll get in touch via PM to see what parts you have.

I hope we see other people listing group lots of parts for sale and or a way to know what bom parts are around for it. Looked like those racks had pretty much all Raza parts.

Anyone in texas interested in some cabinets?
[quoted image]

Great purchases. I would have totally bought lot 320 if i lived in the USA. As i'm in the UK it was alittle tricky shipping wise with all the other large items like cabinets. I'd totally have a populated Raza playfield though if that was available I guess though that this part of it was one of the reasons to get it and that makes total sense. You got loads of nice populated playfields inc a magicgirl one to for homebrew/customising use.

Nobody is going to regret buying this lot.

Quoted from Keroppi:

I *believe* I got most of the stuff to build the cabinets (I think all the wood and half the metal) and most of the playfields, ramp molds, and it's something I'd like to make available as complete as possible...I am kicking myself for not going higher on the 2 other 'scrap metal' lots.
I you are the winner(s) of the scrap metal (lot 309, lot 363) or have any other unique assemblies: PLEASE reach out to me. I can hand you a bit of quick profit and/or I have other stuff to trade (playfields, rotisseries, etc) that may be of interest to you.

In terms of the metal parts, lots 360 (which you got) looks like the best one for playfield parts, so that was excellent I see quite a few rear habit rails and up kicker/scoop parts which are hopefully for RAZA and will be v useful. I also hope as you say whoever won those other 'scrap' metal lots is willing to trade with you or sell etc. Recycling it all would be a shame. Fingers crossed you are successful.
