Yes, they announced that May 29th, that they will have the machines there LATEST.

I was hoping for a mention of production line infrastructure, but it sounds like they are still years away...
Hi all, working on some website issues sending people to BS links, so the deeproot article is deleted for now...thanks for your patience and sorry for the bad links.

You're too late.
Jeff took the article off the line,... just like JJP PotC.
Quoted from SunKing:Also from the article:

This is very telling. You don't tool up a production line with the capability of producing "tens of titles" at once while outproducing Stern and JJP combined in a matter of weeks or months. I have faith though, because pinball is EASY!
Quoted from Fulltilt:Goodwill amendment received today from Robert (Deeproot).
He is certainly keeping up with his deadlines and offers to Zidware buyers.
Choose wait for games or take the cash.
I'll choose to wait and take the pins thank you! Good luck Deeproot!
I’m out and taking the cash...good luck!

Quoted from CLEllison:Unless your promised to get a game at a discount get your money back. Otherwise there is literally no point to take that gamble. My .02
It’s was 2 free games actually... add a little
Quoted from Pimp77:I’m out and taking the cash...good luck!
Lemme' see.. what did I get from Jpop?... a big dig up the pinball launch lane...
Why would I not wait for the offer of 2 free games vs a little "cash" reimbursement...?
Seems to me like any real pinball fan would want 2 pins vs a little cash back in the pocket to blow on some other mediocre current offering.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Quoted from benheck:A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
LOL... thanks Ben! Have faith.. I know it's hard after that run. I have to say I hope you are wrong.
I've been out $9500 since 2013-14. Never expected to see anything back after the legal fiasco ran it's course.
I really think that I now have something to look forward to again. Resolved to the fact I don't care which way it turns out.
I'd rather have 2 DR pins than 0 Jpop pins. That's what I have at this point.
Quoted from benheck:A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Stay out of it Ben. I consider your comment to be providing legal advice without a license.
—Robert
At least Deeproot is making things right for those who invested, I personally would be happy knowing someone stepped up to the plate, I respect that!
I just want to see/hear more about these 80s themes that were mentioned now a few times, tied to Deeproot....
Quoted from benheck:A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Why criticize your former partner Jpop?
I’m staying in myself for the reasons I started out with from day one.
I’m a pinball guy and it’s been a LONG journey
I’m ready to see what RAZA will turn out to be

Bonus proverb: “Laugh and the world laughs with you; weep and you weep alone.”

Btw, it’s easy to chime in now
The time to say something was years ago before people got F Ed
Quoted from delt31:GD this thread is deep. So much pinball drama it's INSANE.
And proverbs!
Edit:
I'll tell you what, Robert please don't sue me for posting my proverb free opinion in a forum, but I actually have way more faith in Deeproot than I ever did in the Jpop nonsense. What's gonna happen? Hell if I know. The burn rate and grand dreams seem crazy to me. But I'm not their accountant, and nobody here is out money, so who cares?
Maybe they've got 5 secret weapon games, maybe it's horribly managed and slowly spiraling down the drain. Not a clue. But I do know that there are smart people working on stuff there, and presumably more business sense than Jpop ever had, so who knows? Maybe it's working.
The checks are clearing as far as I know. David Thiel is still working there, and I respect him a ton. Dennis Nordman is one of my favorite designers, and remember what happened with Heighway when Andrew tried to fuck everything up on the time table? Dennis walked. Kinda badly, in a public and weird way too, he just bailed the fuck out. As far as I know he's still with DR. They didn't get the Andrew treatment.
The only 'bad sign' really that we've seen is things are late. And my personal experience with Heighway is you're better to ship late then too early. As long as you don't see a stream of people out the door, my personal non legal advice is just see what happens. Judge on the end, what do you have to lose? Some patience? There's always more drama to be found.

deeproot don’t you also consider it “hard to believe that we . . . would not be able to find a way to do something as easy as pinball”?
Quoted from benheck:A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
I like this one.
Oh shit, I better hire a lawyer. I think I just gave legal advice without a license.
Quoted from deeproot:Stay out of it Ben. I consider your comment to be providing legal advice without a license.

I don’t know if you need a lawyer but you surely need to hire a communication specialist and hand him over all your social media accounts.
Anyways I hope you’re better at running a pinball company than at talking on forums.

Does no one else find it odd that the rest of the TWIP site works perfectly?
Quoted from mufcmufc:Does no one else find it odd that the rest of the TWIP site works perfectly?
I thought about that but I don't think Jeff would lie...
Maybe if the article is originally from the TWIP "Insider" program posting it on the main site broke the closed access area?
Quoted from mufcmufc:Does no one else find it odd that the rest of the TWIP site works perfectly?
Surely someone must have made a copy of that article before it disappeared.
If I may write an abstract from the article from my memory:
1) Whatever you think of Robert, he's generally nice and a pinhead and if you see the stuff he does there at deeproot you'd want him to succeed.
2) They had one of the biggest/ most innovative mech ever, the mindbogglingest ramp ever, as well as othe innovative stuff (lifting the playfield) and much little stuff that adresses things that you won't argue about anymore/ are used to, but still could be done better.
3) Trying to innovate the assembly process (with as least soldering as possible, for instance).
4) Classic looking Cab ("it won't look out of place"), with emphasis on artwork, not so much on LCD. (So luckily no JJP.)
5) No manufacturing site to speak of yet. So no Octopusses,... Octopie (?!?) in action yet!
A bit of teasing to a license was there but namely only Raza (quite finished but missing sound) and Magic Girl were mentioned.

Direct link with no issue for me. - Great article. Intriguing.
Hrm... not impressed.
Building whitewoods or one off games is not really a sign of anything.. except access to resources.
Besides rapid prototyping, why are we bothering with inhouse PCB fab, etc? That stuff is commoditized... It reeks of Heighway again where they think they can do it better/cheaper by doing it themselves... (instead of letting 'experts' excel at their trade).
Reducing soldering to speed up assembly? Again, trying to reinvent the wheel here. They keep using 'slow' soldering for a reason.. reliability and costs. Something tells me that being able to produce 'fast enough' probably shouldn't be at the top of the list in challenges to get 'right' for the first effort.
4 more months to show off 'prototypes'? I think the most 'pinball' thing Deeproot has shown so far is... making the same mistakes as other failed pinball companies.
Quoted from flynnibus:Reducing soldering to speed up assembly? Again, trying to reinvent the wheel here. They keep using 'slow' soldering for a reason.. reliability and costs.
"They" are using Nodeboards or full, massive Boards beneath the playfield (CGC) to reduce soldering to a minimum.
Quoted from Wolfmarsh:Come on, you know that isn't true.
I can see it now. "Hey Bob, I just did one of those on-line wills, if you don't have one, you should get one" "Oh, and let me add...this is not legal advice. I am not a lawyer licensed in the state of NC" Or during a picnic this July 4th, your friend says "Yeah, Frank borrows my truck and brings it back with the a dent but he is ignoring me now" You respond "I'd tell him you'll sue if he doesn't fix it" "But let me hasten to add, nothing I've said should be construed as formal legal advice as I am neither a lawyer nor licensed in this state" Or your son asks you to look over the lease for the apartment he is considering. "Sorry, son, this is a legal document and, since I'm not a lawyer I'm not going to be able to provide my thoughts"
What I find most interesting is the reaction of Deeproot to the comment. Why would Ben's comment get Deeproot's hackles up? Is it that they fear a run on the bank or perhaps the out-of-pocket expense is more on a refund than the game credit? Then again, maybe it's marketing driven of wanting more owners day one? Or maybe it's all reverse psychology at play...Deeproot wants people to take the $ and by overreacting to Ben's comment they want to stoke concerns about a run on the bank, which will cause a run on the bank eliminating the game credit scenario altogether! Those crafty devils!
Quoted from Paul1478:Personally I took Deeproots comments as a joke. Maybe I am wrong.
Maybe, maybe not.
But some of us are taking this waaay to serious.
Quoted from Paul1478:Personally I took Deeproots comments as a joke. Maybe I am wrong.
It seemed kind of bitchy. He originally just told ben "Stay out of it" and then edited it to add the bizarre legal disclaimer.
Ben is ALWAYS pointing out what a hot mess Jpop is and it's probably starting to annoy them over there at Deep Root. Not sure why'd they care, not givin' a fuck is their credo.
