Robert is having a yard sale in the building he's been kicked out of and his landlord is begrudgingly allowing it to collect on unpaid rent and lawyer fees. Everything must be gone by end of June

What makes anyone think the money is actually going to go towards outstanding Bill's? The guys a crook.

Oh I don't doubt the landlord is going to get stiffed again once Robert has sold off what's worth selling. I was just summing up those latest briefs.

#28104 2 years ago

So the order is just a request from the landlords lawyer to allow them to seize the property?

The way court docs are written so wordy and final it’s tough to figure out what is an actual ruling.

Job security I guess…

#28105 2 years ago

The orders are proposed orders (filing by the petitioner). So they don't take effect unless the job signs off on them. And only one a maximum of one of these two orders would will take effect. The lawyers were giving the judge a shortcut of saying "we'd like you to do this" (modify the stay to make sure we get paid for what we're already owed, will also get paid for the additional time Robert's shit continues to sit here, and then can sell off ourselves any shit that is still here after June) or "do this instead" (throw out all of that planned auction stuff for now and let us just clear out Robert's shit right away").

But the reason I shared the first doc and the reason I found the first doc interesting is the following: check the address of the property. This wasn't filed by the landlord of the HQ. This was filed by the landlord of the other property a few doors down the street, which was the rumored and recently confirmed second building down the street deeproot was also renting at the same time. And this doc contains details of when Robert started renting it, how much he was paying per month, when he stopped paying, etc. So some more data points for those who enjoy trying to add up the pointless money burn for this enterprise which we previously lacked.

Think about how many vendors and landlords Robert stiffed, and then realize he squandered even more than the original $60m

Is the guy still here who’s planning on selling spare pinbars, the best pinball collectible which deeproot never made? Others mentioned possibly modding it further to show content and it’d better if they did. Baby steps for now. Where’s my pinbar?

As to an upcoming auction at dr, will they uncover a hidden room with completed prototypes and 1000 sparkling pinbars? “The dust has cleared from the explosion and specialist are opening the vault doors. They are entering the vault now and it is a good time to remind listeners, all vault contents were prepurchased for $1M by a mystery buyer. What treasures will be uncovered at deeproot headquarters, given the $68M stolen and spent on pinball? Stay tuned …”

Cliff / spark note highlights from the most filings.

As noted above, some of the later screenshots are taken from two different proposed orders (one saying it's cool to continue to house the deeprot in the facility as long as landlord starts getting paid and gets first dibs from the auction proceeds to square the debt OR if you aren't cool with that, then for the love of god please let me just clear this crap out and see what I can get for it at the flea market).

The pinball parts are probably hidden within the SCIF.

Me : Let’s load that door with explosives and blow it.
Landlord : SCIF was left unlocked and the door can easily be pulled opened.
Me : Blow the door!!

I am here. We didn't make these a priority, as we had other pressing orders, but we did finally finish grinding the welds, polishing, and then powder coated for that version. This is the Dormant Blue Powder Coated version. We also have the Stainless Steel ones. I plan on figuring out how to sell them on Pinside next. We will have both the Pinbar and Playfield Glass Holders in Stainless and Powder Paint. When I was at Aimtron and Jersey Jack, I was on here frequently, but not as much now. I want to make sure to abide by any Pinside selling rules or ethics, and not assume it is just okay to sell through DMs. This forum is obviously a real benefit in recouping major losses.

There's the pinbar.

I'm not sure what you can actually do with this highly customized part that can't really be used anywhere else. A part for homebrew builders? Just a souvenir of this debacle? DMD-Run clock? Shadowbox or lightbox?

Ben could use it as a frame for Robert's post on lawyering without a license

(Just an idea.)

Still here waiting on what happens with IP. Seems like most previous employees are moving ahead with other employers.

What else do you expect them to do when the company they were working for implodes spectacularly?

One never knows. The auction outcomes (assuming there will be an auction - we should find out on tomorrow morning's webex hearing) may surprise...

#28122 2 years ago

If this turns out anything like the Predator and Jpop legal stuff, we can expect it to drag on and on until it fades into obscurity.

#28123 2 years ago

Vonnie D, Kevin Kulek, Andrew Highway, JPOP and Robert Mueller have left their marks on pinball and by that I mean their skid marks.

I wonder if the pinball glass holder/lifting mech could be retrofitted into other cabinets...if you really wanted that feature for some reason.

I wouldn't take this garbage for free. These IPs are worth NOTHING. Less than nothing (liability) as they're now attached to 2 bankruptcies and the SEC!

#28128 2 years ago

...and I believe we have an auctioneer! Sounds like they're going to try to have the auction before March 31 (to avoid addl fees to the landlord), or the latest by the end of June.

lol. Typically you start thinking about seeking other employment when you stop getting paid, the company goes bankrupt, the owner is being charged with list of crimes, and buildings locked up.

Thanks for court reporting! Too early for my today, today. I'll share the order(s) once filed.

Does this mean we'll have a chance to bid on that cardboard Nordman whitewood that was pictured leaning up against the wall with a bunch of garbage?

I think we can bring that game to production if we pool our resources!

Every piece of the abominations that were created in that place need to be burned and all records of their existence need to be erased from history.
As well, ALL traces of everything snd anything zidware need to be rounded up, burnt, the ashes welded into lead boxes and dropped into the deepest part of the Pacific Ocean.
All traces of jpop after his time at Bally Williams needs to be erased from history.
Let’s bury these cancers on pinball once and for all.

It's official: we have auction and auctioneer. Let the bidding begin!

On that topic, does anyone know what to expect next in terms of going from these orders to finding out the details of time, place, format, etc for said auction(s)?

I'm considering reaching out to the honorable trustee and our new pal Mel T, though I'm skeptical either/both will be likely to reply to a human blueberry (actually, I have a fairly good feeling about good old Mel. Is anyone else up for instead taking the lead on these inquiries?

Unrelated to pinball (although not something that would surprise me at the "Worldwide Headquarters at DEEPDOO") I'm curious what this is. I'm guessing a telescoping roller table but I've never seen one like this.
