Quoted from blueberryjohnson:

And we're adjourned until a month from today because no representative from the debtor was present. Trustee representative (I assume) asked a few questions of others, but said the rest of his questions were for the debtors.
Court stuff is lame.

His lawyer is probably a creditor now.

Are you familiar with the droid builder community? That is a fascinating hobby. Depending on what materials you use to build an R2 and the features/mods you include, it could cost around $5k-$35k to build one.

For 25k, I want to see an Animatronic Kenny Baker in there when I open it up.

Was going to follow up to ask if any company actually ever made a product with that particular value add. But then remembered that I already knew the answer that Samsung did

I'm cool with building bots in general, especially people that effectively create cheaper versions of more expensive robots like boston dynamics:

Spending $25k on an R2-D2 robot with limited functions (and as that reviewer says, a very cheap looking toy controller) seems like a lot of money for the fun factor. I question the money I've spent on pinball almost daily.

A few new motions filed today by the trustee in the bankruptcy cases: to allow for the public auctioning of deeproot assets, to sign off on the auctioneer he wants to hire, and to expedite a hearing on the auctioneer motion for on or before Feb 11 so the guy can get to work because Robert owes the landlord back rent where the stuff to auction is being held.

Also, one of the filings confirms that property is currently located at both 12621 Silicon Dr and 12669 Dr, confirming the long rumored dumbness that Robert had to rent a second place right down the street because he just couldn't fit all of his stuff in that 50,000 ft2 or whatever it was headquarters.

But just think of all the nice things that auctioneer will buy with his proceeds after you snatch that vacuum former up

It does seem high, but after working with an auctioneer service to sell off my grandparents' farm estate, you get what you pay for. With a good auctioneer, you get the built-in visibility and advertising that comes along with their company, plus they help out a ton with the organization and legwork, not to mention coordinating the sale process itself. You'd probably make 25% less money doing it yourself, not to mention the stupid amount of extra work it would be. I definitely don't regret it.

Meeting of creditors adjourned until March 4 because Bobby's lawyer didn't show at the one last week. I would have assumed no showing would be something you'd want to avoid doing. But it seems the only consequences are that you get to delay stuff for another month+?

How much money, salary, government time is being wasted by all these extensions, deferrals, motions etc?

I know scum like Blobert don't care. But the rest of us who earn an honest living and pay taxes to pay for this do.

I don't quite follow what you mean?

Anyway, my only monitoring for the bankruptcy stuff is seeing when new things show up here (https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/61608049/deeproot-capital-management-llc/) and then buying them via pacer.

Don’t get me wrong, I rather they speed this up and throw his ass in jail. He stole tens of millions, what are we even doing?

But also out of things tax dollars get spent on, convicting an insufferable blowhard stuffed into a polo shirt a size too small is worthwhile.

Quoted from blueberryjohnson:

I didn't mean anything, just kidding with you.
It seems like monitoring bankruptcy procedure and filings is about all the good that's going to come out of this thread at this point.

I had my old "paid" invoice so I filed as a creditor claim. I don't expect to have any compensation from it.

I'm curious, if I remember correctly you were a Zidware buyer that rolled your deposits over to Deeproot via their goodwill agreement. Did you use your Zidware paid invoice to file the claim or was there another Deeproot invoice?

The way things are going, I'd be surprised if Robert files a response to the complaint or attends any of the proceedings without being legally or physically compelled to do so. That said, I'm curious if he's adopted this tactic deliberately, or if he's been unable to properly pay for his representation (given his previous statements about spending money while it's in front of him).

I really, really, really wish the Texas Pinball Festival had gone forward and Deeproot would have gone. I cannot begin to fathom what kind of Taco-Bell bathroom experience that would have been at the Deeproot booth.

I kind of wondered if they would have cancelled their appearance altogether.

Damn. They could put a lien on the contents of the property.

There will be zero recovery for the victims. All we can hope for us a pound of flesh. Or in Blobert's case, 250 lbs.

Or, they would have spent a million of Old people's money and wowed the attendance.

He would not have cancelled, they went ahead with the big six or whatever. EGO...

Lawyer is a "no-show" equation:

=

3% innocuous circumstance.

97% serious underlying explanation.

Just sayin'.

No, I had a Deeproot paid invoice. It didn't mention Zidware credits. Just paid in full for an Xtra with Pinpod.
$10,589 with shipping.

Quoted from benheck:

I'd take just a vial of blood. Put it on a chain like Billy Bob Thornton. Hang it on the wall of the gameroom.

And I believe that might be a pound or two over 250.

New motion filed by Robert's lawyers in the SEC case, and for once I'm shocked: Rather than request yet another extension on time to respond to the complaint, this time they're actually pushing for the entire process to speed up!

PSA to any 2021 deeproot employees: a former (departed in 2021) employee notified me that since there were 2 payroll vendors in 2021 and also I bet due to multiple issues with paying those vendors and all else, employees have not received 2021 W2s. Employees must:
1. contact IRS to inform IRS of not receiving W2
2. Use form 4852 to estimate W2 info

Taxes for employees who were paid through Paychex during 2021 cannot be efiled and must be sent via US mail. Paychex will not issue additional docs since deeproot is not a current client.

Very sorry for anybody affected and hope this helps.

New filing (one motion + two proposed orders) in the bankruptcy case today that includes a few bits of actually interesting info.

Posting straight away rather than hold off until I have the chance to excerpt my favorite parts (because I'm not sure when that will be).

Quoted from benheck:

Still. TNA was themed very well. More so than that infinitely higher budgeted Dialed In, which (while being a great game) had so many more marketing issues beyond Captain America in Mom Jean's.

Quoted from benheck:

I bet Spooky could move 300 "Vaulted" AMH's with new art easier than falling off a log.

TNA was great. Someone said earlier how stupid is was to create an original theme because of all the video content that needed to be created. Well, TNA solved that by not having a large lcd, and yet it sold. Or did it? 500 units sold was a great success as the goal was to make and sell a few hundred games and they blew past it. But most manufacturers are going to need to design something that sells 1k+ units. Could TNA have sold more than it did, probably not? I wish Spooky would add the ramp that an enthusiast created, add rule set for ramp, put it in a standard cab and change the artwork. Voila, Spooky has a true TNA2 and I’d buy one. They might be able to sell 500 of these too. A failure for some companies but a smashing success for Spooky. And once added to TNA sales would push TNA and TNA2 sales over 1k.
