Quoted from blueberryjohnson:

If he stashed ill-gotten cash somewhere else, utilizing that would be playing with fire (which maybe he'd do).

Given that you're talking about someone who ("allegedly") stole $60 million from retirees, I think "playing with fire" is exactly what should be expected. Until he's hauled off to prison, this won't stop.

#27902 2 years ago

Guys don’t worry. I’m sure the hubris of Robert “running” a pinball company will carry over to his “defense” of making said pinball company.

"Judge, you should see these games, man! They're so beautiful! Jpop is a ROCK STAR!"

#27904 2 years ago
Quoted from Inside:

Because there are so many companies out there clamoring for an impossible to build pinball playfield rotisserie?
Is anyone following the jpop bankruptcy trial? Wasn’t one of the points of contention the illegal (?) transfer of assets to deeproot? Those assets would include patents as well…

Here are links to Jpop cases:

I did a little pacer purchasing here and there, but realize it might be necessary as there are folks in this thread involved in the proceedings who may already have access to the files. Is that the case?

However, upon recently learning that pacer only charges for the first 30 pages of a doc, I did just splurge for the biggest one I've encountered: 273 pages. For $3, that is one heck of steal.

Since I haven't reviewed it and I suspect it contains contact info for various non-public figures, I won't plan to link it here (unless after I do get to review it, I find out it does not).

Stuff really is fascinating. Pre-sale of FOURTH Zidware title confirmed (if it already wasn't - I'd seen the name but wasn't 100% sure if it got to the stage of soliciting and receiving money for it).

Well I guess we can now add poor grammar to the list of JPop's offenses.

Is there a way to redact PDFs? I wonder if its possible to make a clean version that doesn't include personal info of customers and other victims?

The documents are already mildly redacted. It would take some extended effort to redact for our purposes. Easier would be to simply pull out content of particular interest and then redact where/if necessary.

Glad to send you a link if it's something you'd like to take on.

IIRC John pre-sold a decent # of AIW. Maybe like 40?

It's always more fun to start projects than finish them. That's OK when noodling around your garage but it doesn't work in business. 80/20 rule... John never wanted to move past the 20.

JPop liked to jump around when things got hard

You can see his weird pinball truss patent in action on Kiss and the Space game though.

How about a little positive news for a change? The second PPP loan for Policy Services, Inc. has finally been forgiven!

Unfortunately, RM is still waiting on those fat cats in Washington to get off their duffs and do the same for deeproot tech and deeproot studios

“Small deposit” $2750..?

“Small deposit” $2750..?

To be fair, this was in 2013. So in today's dollars that would only be $3,291.

Yeah, certainly don't want to create work. Snapshots of specific things of interest sounds like good strategy to keep a historical record here.

#27917 2 years ago

Robert needs more money!?!? Why doesn’t he just sell some of the pins he made over the last six years? Oh wait, maybe doing pinball was so f#cking easy he forgot to make any pins at all.

What an idiot. No matter how much time he spends in jail it won’t be enough.

Quoted from blueberryjohnson:

Save the date(s) - two upcoming meeting of creditors calls are scheduled - unclear to me if the later date overrides the earlier or if they both are happening for/with different content - there was a third earlier date that no longer shows up in the docket (Jan 11), so maybe these are two different calls that remain on - if there is someone smart at this stuff who can figure out the reality of the situation, please do
Round one (if there is more than one round) kicks off Thursday:
Jan 13, 11 am central
https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.txwb.352282/gov.uscourts.txwb.352282.3.0.pdf
[quoted image]
Round two (or round one, if this is a replacement)
Jan 28, 9 am central
https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.txwb.352282/gov.uscourts.txwb.352282.23.0.pdf
[quoted image]
Whether both or just one of these happens, I anticipate more interesting proceedings than that first call a number of us joined in December

Reading through documents for this case, my best guess is that tomorrow's scheduled meeting has been superseded by the Jan 28 one and as such will not take place.

I'm definitely no pro with this, so feel free to dial in if you have the availability and desire. I'm booked for 3 solid hours during that time so will not be checking. Perhaps the universe saw to the changing of the trustee and the court to change the meeting date so that I wouldn't miss out.

#27919 2 years ago

Couple significant developments:

1) SEC + Chap 7 Trustee team up to request judge in SEC case adjust the asset freeze so they can start liquidating any remaining assets (get those RAZA prototype auction fingers ready!)

2) Schedules, Statements, and Summary filings for each of the bankrupting LLCs aka inventorying everything Robert says they still have, owe, and did business wise over the past couple years

Not going to post those docs here because a number of them have people's home addresses. I'm also not going to go through and redact them all so I can post them here because that would be a pain and take a long time. I'm thinking the compromise may be just deleting out the sensitive pages and uploading the rest. But that won't happen today. So if you want to start digging in and excerpting the good stuff, please proceed.

why did he buy 3 air compressors and 3 cnc routers? How many do you NEED?

Quoted from toyotaboy:

why did he buy 3 air compressors and 3 cnc routers? How many do you NEED?

Because Stern has three? And they’re going to make more games than anyone else in 2019!

Also in the photos we only ever saw one. Wonder where they put the others. Still in the box?

$60 million out.

$126k in.

#27928 2 years ago

Here's a modified filing for deeprooth tech. Rather than redacting bits, I simply deleted any pages that contained the home addresses of members of the pinball community (if you see any I missed, let me know so I can re-edit).

There are nine other docs like this, each for a different LLC. Quickly scrolling through, probably half of them contain different interesting stuff of significance. I'll do other ones later. They all start with the same six or so pages of notes, so you can just skim that section once.

Enjoy. And don't forget to share your favorite finds with the rest of the class.

last video I saw, Stern had a single machine with dual heads (CNC two playfields at a time), and most manufacturing facilities have one giant air compressor and feed 80psi throughout the factory through air lines.

close to 400k for spent for their "hammer tested" orange peel clear applying device lmfao, wow. Mind boggling.

#27931 2 years ago

Part of me wants to try and get the vacuum former from the sale, but shipping that and having the general stench of failure all over it makes me rethink that move.

Also, he's got a Wells Fargo account with -$10.00 in it. Pinball is easy!

#27932 2 years ago
Quoted from benheck:

$60 million out.
$126k in.

But how much of that $60 million really got spent on salaries and equipment, and how much got moved to a Cayman Islands bank account for RM?

#27933 2 years ago

On page 3, they say they have $41K worth of pinball machines, but on page 11 they say they have $78K worth of pinball machines.

I would venture to guess that Robert purchased his home pinball collection as a business expense. So there are many many BW and Stern machines in the air.

#27938 2 years ago

It's nice to know the money they wasted on equipment they didn't need and/or hardly used. But I'm curious if they'll eventually need to show off other books to show where all that money evaporated.

#27939 2 years ago
Quoted from SirScott:

And $80k worth of gym equipment? Geesh.

Robert's gotta look good for wife four.

It's funny in the empty photos of the building that he left the gym equipment. Guess he already knew about prison exercise time...

Value None

JPOP is the least productive designer from his Williams era retirement to now. Deeproot was doooooomed from the word Popaduik...

Quoted from benheck:

"Judge, you should see these games, man! They're so beautiful! Jpop is a ROCK STAR!"

If the ball fits they must aquit!

#27943 2 years ago

Seriously Deeproot could've just bought and flipped POTC, GNR and Wonka CE's etc... as a better business model!

Wow, pinflation sure hits fast. 90% value increase in just 8 pages. Imagine what those games will be worth by the time this is all over.

If these are the famous octo/quad benches, the value at auction could well end up being higher than the purchased

Screen Shot 2022-01-14 at 5.43.35 AM (resized).pngScreen Shot 2022-01-14 at 5.43.35 AM (resized).png

A page similar to this one (maybe exact) shows up in a number of the filings, owing no doubt to the fuzzy boundaries between these operations. That could make sense to me if all of the filings were identical and that were noted, but they are not and I'm not seeing such a note.

So unless there are multiple sets of all of these items, this would be double (possibly triple, quadruple, etc) counting, which would seem inadvisable for the debtor and confusing to the court. But with all this legal stuff, it's totally possible I'm misinterpreting or misunderstanding these forms.

deeproottech-officestuff.pdfdeeproottech-officestuff.pdf

We've seen the G force case before (though I don't recall the details). Surprised Robert would win anything. I wonder why/how he did.

I believe these are the line items we'd want to total across the filings to compare money in vs. money out for business genius Robert Mueller (I sneak peaked deeproot pinball llc's $124k a few posts back)

Interesting how on page 7 they state that they have no Intellectual Property.

I guess all those patents aren't really worth anything after all.

And I was so looking forward to having a large collection of PinPods.

#27949 2 years ago
Quoted from Haymaker:

close to 400k for spent for their "hammer tested" orange peel clear applying device lmfao, wow. Mind boggling.

Remember when Deep Root pledged to give out T-shirts celebrating their hammer-proof playfield, and mocking the quotes of Pinside hammer test naysayers? The best part was the handful of Deep Root cultists proudly declaring they'd sent in their quotes and how awesome these playfields were gonna be. One guy was excited he now wouldn't have to send in his Deep Root playfield to get clearcoated.

That actually happened! And then they revealed their disastrous Orbiter One style clearcoat and we never heard about the hammer proof playfields - or those dumb t-shirts - again!

It really summed up Deep Root. Focus on the little things, like picking fights with your critics, rather than the big things, like playfields, clearcoats, actually manufacturing pinball machines....
