When does RM go to jail
I really dont understand why doing this ???
it was obvious that the scam would end up revealing itself and on it knows the culprit ... so good to try to steal millions which will be seized anyway and to go to jail in addition ... really I do not understand for going so far in development to get to the ...
Quoted from hank527:When does RM go to jail
First there has to be a guilty plea or verdict. Then sentencing
Then possibly jail

I think there's some misunderstanding about what's going on here...
The SEC lawsuit is a civil lawsuit. The relief being sought is quite narrow (https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.txwd.1144501/gov.uscourts.txwd.1144501.1.0.pdf -- page 23). Here's the simplified analysis of the 'prayer for relief' as best as I understand it:
a) Demand that Robert not engage in any fraud ( https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/17/240.10b-5 )
b) Demand that Robert not be allowed to mislead people about pooled investments ( https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/17/275.206(4)-8 )
c) Robert has to give back any gains that the court determines were gained illegally
d) Robert has to pay a penalty
e) Make it so that Robert can't be in control of any company that deals with securities
f) Make it so that Robert can't be an officer of any company that deals with investors
g) Also, if the court (the judge) finds any other penalties, the judge can impose them too
The filings for this civil suit also hint that there is grand jury investigations into criminal activities, but so far nothing's been revealed. My guess is that we may see something early next year after RM's lawyers respond to the initial complaint in full -- so far there have been only a few brief filings.

First there needs to be a criminal case…
Which there isn’t (yet)
Deeproot pinball is dead. That's victory enough.
Don't need a God damn patent troll in this industry.

Yes. Point being asking about jail time is silly right now. If it ever happens it's a long ways off.
Anyone reach out to Andrew for info on the erstwhile DR HQ property? We know the judge granted access permission to the owners weeks back.
The listing details are in need of minor updates; the brochure, more significant ones.

Yeah, but "Suitable for operating a multi-million dollar Ponzi scheme" has limited market appeal.
Quoted from CrazyLevi:One of my favorite Pinbar features: You can't see or operate the screen/diagnostics if the playfield is up.
Easy solution: The PinHinge™
I've been busy with my family, but happy belated 1 year anniversary of the game going up for sale! Any day now...

Wow!!
That also means it’s the anniversary of single
Greatest event in modern pinball history:
The introduction of the PinPod!!!!
A problem that needs fixing - when working under a playfield you cannot read the pinbar screen.
Short-term Solution - a pair of X-ray glasses will be included with each pinbar purchased.
Long-term solution - JPOP will lead the design team to move all info and functionality on the pinbar touchscreen and move it to an lcd screen in the backbox. Of course it needs to be rebranded and pinscreen seems the best name possible. Come to TPF 2025 for the five days of pinscreen.

PinPod was shown off on 9/22/20 in a TWIP article (back when they had that brief realization that maybe they should scrap the whole idea)
RAZA was announced for presale on 12/7/20 for a window opened 12/8/20 to 12/30/20. This was way back on page 278
Working under PF solution:
1) Bluetooth module on game
2) App on phone
3) Stream switch and test functions to phone
Wow. That was easy!

This is Deep Root we are talking about...clearly the solution would involve 5 mirrors, a number of adjustable viewing arms, and of course several patents.

But what if you could overdesign a mechanism to swing the backbox off to the side like a computer monitor? Impractical designs is the deeproot modus operandi
Here's a novel idea--forget about lifting the playfield up. That's a thing of the past. It will have bomb bay doors on the bottom of the cab instead.

Whole cab on a gimble so it can be rotated upwards

Couple this with some hydraulic lifts that will raise the entire game 7 feet in the air and we may be on to something. After your pinpod won't fit into your front door, it would be appropriately awesome to require the game to crash into the ceiling of your basement to rebuild a flipper.

Stern already sorta did this with those Transformer and Avenger Pins from ten years back
So yes, deeproot doing something that the rest of the industry already realized was a bad idea tracks...

Novel idea? Apparently you've never worked on an Atari Hercules! I have nightmares about wriggling under one on a nasty beer-soaked carpet...
The easy fix for not being able to see the Pinbar™ with the playfield up is to sell a Pinvue™ mirror for on the ceiling. You could sell a bedroom version as well.

I was being a little tongue-in-cheek about the novelty since this is deeproot we're talking about here.

What about a live transcription feature that converts the onscreen pinbar data to braille which is dynamically constituted through the reorganization and piling of magnetic micro beads or something (I'm not an engineer).
And for those who don't know who Braille, it comes with a PinGlove which has special sensors on the fingertips that read in the bumps and read out the English or Spanish translation in JPop's voice.

You guys are so rough on the ground breaking revolutionary design of the Pinbar and it’s Siamese twin the playfield lift glass. This technology is not dead. It is merely in stasis waiting for the future to catch up with it…
Now those Pin pods… that crap needs to be turned into coffee tables.

Ok, I'm sold on that one...

Jeez! Is that a Jolly Park in the background? Nice to see a rare game not getting destroyed in a flood
Quoted from Haymaker:Jeez! Is that a Jolly Park in the background? Nice to see a rare game not getting destroyed in a flood
Yes, 1 super heavy Jolly Park I might add. The water came close to hitting the bottom of the Disco Fever. The amount of rain took us by surprise, so only had time to move the EMs upstairs.

Pinball nightmare right there…

That scene alone sold many many power gloves! I had one, but it was never quite as cool as it looked in that movie
I have nothing to add about DR, but c’mon people, let’s not misquote The Wizard!

There was also the U-Force, which unbelievably was even LESS useful
I made a big stink about getting the glove so my parents pulled the slow roll Red Rider behind the heater routine to give it to me. Once I quickly learned it was crap I knew I had to pretend it was awesome so my rents wouldn't be mad about buying it.
I don’t remember the power glove. I must have been acquiring my strength thru other means at that point…

Fun fact -
The stupid robot, while useless, allowed Nintendo to get the NES placed in toy store chains as a "toy" rather than a video game, at a time when video games were poison in US toy industry.

They also offered to buy back anything that was unsold because of how burnt retailers were with shovelware crap games in recent years. That's what really made the retailers give them a limited trial in 1985.
Nintendo had a lot of really smart ideas to fix what caused the video game industry to nearly collapse on itself at the time.
And once Nintendo became popular, then they put the screws into their retail partners and third party software developers...
Sega put a Mattel toy executive in charge to make the Genesis a hit.

Yup. Was also initially distributed by Worlds of Wonder who said "take X Nintendos or you don't get any Teddy Ruxpins"... kind of like Williams with Popeye except it was a good thing

the scene just before this, he's driving "rad mobile" which wouldn't actually work like a steering wheel like he's showing
This guy turned a power glove into something useful, a stop animation tool
