They're not saying that deeproot funds unregistered securities are a problem, rather that brokers may have sold them on to other people without their due diligence which would be actionable.

Quoted from Beechwood:Not sure if you read the whole article, but it would seem they are exposing themselves to a lot of liability if were/are just fishing.
Disagree, what in the article exposes them to liability?
It's written very vague and generalizes a lot of stuff
Quoted from YeOldPinPlayer:In Texas it's not very relevant what you call it. If they aren't getting paid through no fault of their own they usually can get unemployment (which could be a very tiny portion of their former pay.) https://www.twc.texas.gov/jobseekers/eligibility-benefit-amounts
You might be thinking of some union specific requirements? Almost no union membership down here.
I'm in one, and it sucks. They're so worthless that the COVID notice on their front page of our local is dated *2017*, not kidding.
Quoted from BMore-Pinball:I think they are just fishing
I saw this awhile back, and thought the same thing. Just dipping their toe in the water to test the temperature.

A couple people showed me that page. If you do a site search with a non-dr phrase from the content, you can get more than a thousand results. Same text, different fund names.
Looks like autogenerated content using the names of investments by a company fishing for clients. I assume it's junk nonsense based on nothing specific to deeproot.

Interesting, I wonder how much fishing like that goes on by law firms for everything under the sun.

Maybe they actually caught some fish in deeproots wishing well?!?!
Is it common to fish for Clients to build a case (possibly criminal one too??) against a going concern using public media? As a legal practice that sounds sus. It wreaks of something that would automatically trigger a defamatory suit by the target party. At least this was on the mark by focusing on shady practices, something that should be easy to prove.
But it served to spotlight Robert’s Folly : Handing $44M to a Megalomaniac

Plus I'd be disinclined to submit my info to a law company with a generic wordpress favicon.

They could've saved a lot of time and headache by starting off with "Concerned with your investment in Deeproot pinball??"
Quoted from toyotaboy:Anyone actually read the 575 fund:
https://sec.report/Document/0001652459-20-000001
What's strange is people like ICE keep talking about this 40 million dollar fund, but according to that page only 4.8 million of possible 37.5 million has been sold as of this past December.
[quoted image]
I don't know how much Robert has saved up over the years, but 4.8 million plus 1.8 in PPP loans = 6.6 million
If they are truly easily burning a million dollars/year currently, they have easily burned 3+ by now (not including building upgrades, larger staff he once employed like dennis nordman, dozens of artists). The numbers don't lie.
Also how do you furlough employees if you have PPP loans? Isn't that the point of that, so you don't have to furlough employees?
Due to this deeproot googling, I'm learning a tiny bit about this investment stuff (see, not a waste of time!) and I *think* what you're looking at is one specific offering, and that over the years there are multiple distinct offerings. If that's the case, selling only that much of that offering mean they haven't sold more of others that would add up to the magic number. Money-understanding people, please correct me if I'm wrong.
If I'm not wrong, here are examples of 575 Fund sales results from other offerings:

From Deepbloats site: "BUILT WITH INNOVATION AND VALUE FROM THE GROUND UP" This should be change to "BUILT with innovation scams and no value from the ground up"

Covid didn't exist in 2017; is that a typo or did they recycle some old flu guidance page and forget to change the dates?

You'd have to be a bigger chonker than I am to fat-finger a number 2 keys away. Like literal sausage fingers.
I don't know what they did, but whatever it was.......it was dumb.

Now, back to question: where did furlough info come from?
Quoted from 27dnast:Now, back to question: where did furlough info come from?
Kaneda mentioned the latest round of it. But Scandell confirmed that it wasn't the first time there were furloughs and late paychecks. It's also been mentioned a few times in ex employee reviews of deeproot that there were periods of no pay.
The parking lot attended unintentionally confirmed it by reporting no one being at the office the last few times he went by.
Quoted from 27dnast:back to question: where did furlough info come from?
I think it came from Lil' Jon & the East Side Boyz (featuring Ying Yang Twins) and their hit song Fur Lough in 2009.
Quoted from Mr68:I told Buddy this was Deeproot carpet.

I told my brother inlaw the same thing.
