    I think it's simply they no longer had the monopoly on pinball critical mass. In the decades prior, it centered all around the pinball industry folks, and the rest of the country couldn't compete, nor was there necessarily interest to support multiple shows of that type. That changed... shows found enough regional interest to support themselves and grew. They grew enough to bring those draws that used to only be at expo (industry folks, reveals, latest toys, etc).

    Expo was a oasis in the desert... we aren't in the desert anymore.
