Quoted from rjd2:Hi all, I recently have been having an issue with my TZ machine. It started when the machine would crash when the ball traveled past the flipper area. It wouldn't do it every time, but maybe 30% of the time. The machine would reset-full power down, reboot, and then run. It would give me a "switch 26" error at boot. I did some research and found several comments pointing to the TCA 0161DP proximity detector IC. I ordered 2, and desoldered the two original chips on the two separate boards that host one. I installed a socket on each board. With the new chips seated, the machine crashes as soon as I depress both flippers. I seated the old chips, and now the machine will play, but 8-10 rapid fire triggers of the flippers causes the machine to crash. Any tips on what this may be? It seems unlikely that both new chips are bad. For the record, I also have a "clock is broken" error. Thanks for any help.
Your 5V power is dipping and causing resets. A cheap fix is buying a Kahr board. It is likely a problem with your driver board but the Kahr board bypasses the issue.
