Quoted from DefaultGen:

Wow, replacing magnet cores is harder than I expected! Only through a combination of the rawest brute strength, a big new screwdriver, pliers, and my anvil happening to have a hole/edge perfectly shaped for the task was I able to break both free. This is after a couple hours of experimentation, I'm exhausted.

Tried it with just a vise and screwdriver, no luck. Then I slightly heated mine with a butane torch. Came out smooth.

Quoted from lb1:

Does anyone know where this wire piece goes? I suspect it belongs somewhere in the cabinet between the transformer and the coin door but it doesn't appear on any of the tear down pictures I took and I don't see it on any of the HEP TZ restorations.

Looks like the dollar bill validator harness. You can remove it if you're not planning on running a dbv.
