Hey I'm joining the club new owner. Last night i noticed my left ramp switch was intermittent. Sometimes wasn't starting multiball or enabling the lock. So it's the 2nd switch, not left ramp enter. I believe I found the correct switch on Marco. Anyone know what resistor I will need? I'm pretty new to the pinball repair, going to need to pick up soldering now too. Any tips? Looks like I'll have to be soldering over the playfield.

Thank you very much. Yes I tested by hand and with a ball. The switch has a lot of left to right wiggle in it, probably time for a new one.

Quoted from PinJim:

Also noteworthy, if you loosen the small screws that attach the switch to the bracket, you can adjust the angle of the switch which will effect when it’s activated. Often I’ve found that to be the problem with micro switches, poorly adjusted...

I will look into this also thanks. Sometimes I would bottom out the switch and it wouldn't register, sometimes it would. Switch does have a weird bend to it though.

Update, finally had some time to replace my switch. My 1st time using a soldering gun. Happy to report it was a bad switch and everything works beautifully. My soldering job while effective, shield your eyes because it's ugly lol. Plays great.

What is the proper way to repair this? My inserts are very slightly lifted will be trying to clamp them down soon.

Just switched to 9.4h from 9.2 and I'm liking it but having something odd happen. During the player piano animation and from start of multiball to the door explosion every light in the back box flickers really fast. No other times, not litz, not slot machine etc...Those are the only 2 times I've seen it. Never happened on 9.2, wondering if anyone else has this.

Quoted from Kwoody51:

What high score do you need to get to allow it to register on the DMD?
I’m running 9.4H and just got a score of 730M (my best game yet and one shot from LITZ, ugh) but it didn’t let me register this. Then got a score of 600M still no high score entry.
Neither score is high enough for the buy in HSTD but is for the other list. HSTD are just the default, factory scores loaded on the 9.4H ROM.
ROM was purchased from Pinbits so would think it’s a good ROM burn.
Thanks!

This was going to be my second question as I just installed the rom from pinbits yesterday and didn't know why my score didn't register.

Quoted from jawjaw:

Do you have dim illumination enabled and led bulbs? I could be wrong but think 9.4h has updates for leds.

That was the fix! Allow dim illumination to off.

Today I installed the color changing door mod and the 6 slow blinkers. I highly recommend doing both it really brought the back glass to life.

Does anyone else hate how this looks like it says -

T5 BIG POINTS BIG POINTS BIG?

It took us awhile to see that it's a wraparound thing, and yes, it still bugs me!

It took me half a year to finally understand this! Just today I took a picture to post here and ask. I stared at it for about half a minute and it finally made sense.

Quoted from awesome1:

Get the 10,000,000 points from the yellow skill shot and you don't have to see the door award...

This is awesome! I did not know you were awarded that for the skill shot. Thank you very much still learning weird things about this game.

Quoted from Alby87:

No way! I always thought it was Town Square Big Points!!

Maybe if we ever get a new rom we can add this to the requests list.

Now take your mini playfields back out and install a low profile switch kit lol. Just finished mine up this morning.

If you can find one! I thought I had read these weren’t being made any more? Is that not correct ?

A member of the forum "Twister" sells these. But you might have to do a group purchase. If interested get in touch with him and see if something can be worked out.

Quoted from iamabearsfan:

I have been working with Twister. Shipping is brutal right now, so I had to skip this mod

Yeah it was brutal waited almost 3 months after purchase, not his fault it was just covid, and Germany.

My TZ recently has not been sensing the powerball in the trough, therefore not triggering powerball mode when the ball is served to the shooter lane. What is the usual cause of this and some tests or things to look for. Starting to get annoyed with playing with the challenge of the powerball but not getting the extra points out of it. Thanks.

#11541 2 years ago

Thanks for both replies. I think I'll test the switches and then take out the sensor parts involved, poke around on them with my meter and add some solder like you said where it may be needed. Will report back if I have success.

A quick update on powerball not registering in trough, was simply an angle adjustment on the metal bracket. Almost 100% now, one minor annoyance. Sometimes the ball will not eject from the slot machine until I click both flippers.

Love the game, been awhile since I played and got to LITZ first game. One other thing got me wondering. When you have the pop bumpers flashing and maxed out and hit the unlit camera shot you get nothing. No sound, no animation, I know I'm nitpicking but I wish there was something lol.

#11679 2 years ago
Quoted from awesome1:

Check the adjustment of the slot machine switch - sounds like it's not always making full contact and the vibration from the flippers with the ball on it finally closes it.

Will do!
