I joined the club yesterday. Game seemed to be a bit of a "barn find" in a a good way. Looks like it hasn't been played much in the past 25 years. Almost no wear, no LEDs, original clock board, etc. I wouldn't doubt the game has the original rubbers on it. Only cosmetic negative is the right side had the typical red faded.

#8700 3 years ago

Just a few pictures of the Twilight Zone we picked up last weekend. New rubbers and LEDs, but going to keep things fairly close to original.

Posted the corrected versions below.

For sure, thanks for checking my horrid spelling. I don't have it on the PC I'm working from today, but should be able to upload them again today.

#8709 3 years ago

Updated, I think. Any other corrections or feedback are welcome.

Picture of the cards installed. This is just standard stock paper cut to 6" x 3.25". I'm quite happy with these.

Quoted from yzfguy:

I got a message from Ingo a few months ago saying that he was unable to ship to the US. I don't mind the wait, it's not his fault, but it seems like shipping must have resumed by now.

I requested, and was issued, a refund about a week ago. Not sure what the issue is, but I felt uneasy about the lack of communication. I'd be happy to order again when they are ready to ship.

Also where did you get the clock board. I'd really like to replace mine. I can get it to work, but after awhile it always seems to error out.

#8977 3 years ago

I should have had you order two. I don't think she's shipping to the USA.

I may have an extra Ingo clock board available . . .

PM sent.

I requested and was granted a return from German Pinball. I don't think there is much risk, but when it comes down to it, I'd rather hold the money then someone else. I ended up buying a new board from someone in Canada, so it worked out that way too.

This piano toy arrived in the mail today. I was able to do a quick hack job over my lunch break, but I'll eventually take a Dremel to to get it shaped a bit better. I might also try to paint it black. Generally not a fan of cheap toys, but I also don't really like the looks of visibly mounted bulb sockets.

I took a slow motion video of my game rejecting a lock / extra ball shot. I was expecting to see the ball not making the corner smoothly, but to my surprise the ball was traveling all the way around and bouncing off the deflector that's supposed to drop the ball downward. The simple act of bending this deflector backwards seems to have completely fixed the issue. I seem to remember individuals in this thread talking about using foam or magnet strips to slow the ball down, I would suggest trying this before going to that trouble.

Quoted from bikefreak:

If you get the correct Neo Magnet they are not too strong. See my post from last month. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/twilight-zone-owners-club/page/191#post-6044066 Which I think is the best solution for bounce outs.

I guess today is the day I'm stocking up on magnets. This will make the third one I've ordered today. I have a little piece of foam at the top of the ramp that slows down the ball that my kickbacks are pretty minimal, but I might as well get it playing perfectly.

There is a lot going on in TZ, period. I wouldn't say it's any more fussy then any other machine out there. It's like fine tuning an engine. Most people are going to be find driving it stock. We're just the nuts that are willing to do the extra work to really bring out the best possible performance.

#9713 3 years ago
Quoted from fast_in_muskoka:

there's no shipping to North America from Germany right now, including Canada

That just seems so weird. We have friends in France and have not seen any disruption in mail service. I wonder why Germany is so different.

So the LEDs on my replacement clock board have started to flicker. I noticed when I switch which socket the LEDs are plugged into the problem follows the bulb. My question, where can I buy replacement bulbs? They are small for prong LEDs.

#9736 3 years ago
Quoted from Jecco74:

I have a set up comet LEDs for a clock board that I am not using. Send me a picture of your bulbs and if they match I can send you the led bulbs I have. I don't need them as the clock board I have has built in LEDs.

I appreciate the offer, but I fear they may not be the correct bulb. They are not the tinies from Comet.

Not these --> https://www.cometpinball.com/products/86-led-bulbs?_pos=1&_sid=6dcec8e4e&_ss=r

They look like the very top of these --> https://www.cometpinball.com/products/1flux-bulbs just the clear part at the top.

EDIT: I think they are called Super Flux, so it makes sense that the Comet bulb is called flux.

I have a TZ spiral ramp I am thinking of selling. This was a mod that was made in limited production. Let me know if any inter st.
