Hi, I also own TZ that soon became my favorite pin.
I have one small issue that bothers me.
The pin is leveled up, but the mini playfield looks like it's not.
If I don't put the ball through the hole it stops on the right side, under the right magnet. Then I have to wait for the system to recognize the ball is stuck and push it up so I can nudge a bit to get it down. Usually with some tilt warnings.
How to level this mini playfield?

That 9.4H ROM pause feature is something that I would like to try, but I don't like it's "Free play" only.
Noticed 9.4CH ROM with coin option that I prefer, but looks like it's hard to get it.
Anyone knows where to buy it (with international shipping)?

#167 10 years ago

Looks like 9.4CH ROM is hard to get... well at least a good price for it.
I can get 9.4H for about $10$, but 9.4CH would cost me $25$ + $8.55 for intl. shipping (actionpinball.com)
Anyone knows a cheaper way to get this ROM? Else I will order at Actionpinball tomorrow.

Anyone here not having optos as flipper switches on TZ?
I have leaf switches and I wonder if that's maybe an early version of TZ.

Where to get some 3D design files for Twilight Zone?

I prefer stock look too.
The bright blue kills the warmth.

Why would anyone like to have an old classic Williams/Bally machine to look like a new Stern machine just because you can.

It was probably just in Spain and somebody played with the jumpers on CPU board.

According to this page, you own a rare pre-production TZ manual!

It's different, but your's might be one of the earliest "A" (Alpha) versions of the manual.

It sometimes happen for me that the diverter doesn't open for me in time if the powerball flies super fast through the spiral.
Is that normal or is there a way to adjust it?

#1065 8 years ago

I wonder if Pat intentionally left it like this, knowing it's a bug/design flaw.
Cheramic ball is really fast and they knew that when they were making this feature.

Haven't played my TZ for a while now and few days ago I powered it up, played few games and suddenly ball release coil and lock release coil stopped working. Went into the test mode and both solenoids work. I wasn't expecting that.
Like there's a switch problem that the system doesn't recognize the ball is there to kick it out.. But even the ball search process doesn't kick'em out?!
Didn't had time to actually look deeper into this problem, that's why I'm asking here if anyone's got a clue what might be the cause of it.

#1099 8 years ago
Quoted from dendoc:

Check the switch at the start of the shooter lane is registering that the ball is there. If the coils work, it means they aren't getting the signal to fire the ball. Just put a ball there in switch test mode and see.

rcbrown316 and dendoc, tried that but it didn't help.
Proximity sensor is working. The switch on shooter lane is working. The ball still wouldn't kick out.
Then noticed I have 4 balls in gumball. Released one in the test mode. Started a new game and the ball was kicked.
Solved now
Did anyone experienced the same issue with 4 balls in gumball that would prevent new ball to kick out?
