Quoted from Parker_tz:

On my Twilight zone about half the time I skill shot the ball into the rocket it bounces out. It does not ever launch it just hits the ball Guide and falls out. It is nothing to do with the adjustable ball Guide because I set it right in the middle of the hitchhiker under the mini playfield. Does any one have any tips of how to fix it?

It does this on mine all the time and on every other pin I’ve played on. It’s been mentioned somewhere on here by someone that “fixed” the problem but got mixed reactions on why would he would care that much. Because the ball falling out to your right flipper is safer than sending it into the bumpers for a possible drain.

Quoted from PinJim:

Does anyone know the proper size of these rubbers? Mine are clearly not right, too big...[quoted image]

Quoted from PinJim:

Thanks. I guess my kit from Marco was wrong. I guess I assumed they use that chart for their kit, which made me question if the chart was right. I hate the idea of ordering 2 rubbers as I’m sure I’ll pay dearly just due to shipping...

What size did they give you in the kit for those posts?

I just double checked mine to make sure the manual wasn’t a misprint. It’s correct

Quoted from Durzel:

Sorry, maybe I wasn’t being clear.
My mini playfield works fine, is level etc. Balls don’t get stuck up on it or anything.
What I’m trying to find it is whether the back of the mini playfield should be further in to the bracket than mine is, as pictured. Mine is only just pinching the edge from the looks of it.
Hope that makes sense.

Here’s mine

My bulbs are orange at the clock, and yellow at the slot. Are they correct? I have no idea, it’s how I got it

Quoted from Scott8806:

I have a question when u lock the balls in after the game is over are they supposed to be released

Mine doesn’t

#9912 3 years ago

If game is turned off with balls locked, they will release when game is turned on again though

#9914 3 years ago

I can’t remember. It might kickout the lock balls first for play.

Edit. I think it does keep playing the powerball like you said

Quoted from Coyote:

Do NOT use 9.4CH. Use 9.4H. Do NOT support that shit.
If you're buying - up to you. No sound changes, just bug fixes. You can tell by looking at your game in Test mode, or the labels on the sound board.

Out of curiosity, what’s the difference between CH and H? I never heard of 9.4CH

Quoted from gjk715:

When I tested the solenoid, it did eject a ball into the shooter lane. When I start a game, the solenoid does not fire. It goes into ball search and all of the solenoids except the one that loads a ball into the shooter lane fires. Yes, one of the kids dropped a marble in when I took off the playfield glass to do a quick wipe down of the playfield. That marble was indeed detected as a non ferrous ball and was removed by me as soon as I saw that it was not a true powerball. The correct number of balls are loaded in the game. I will lift the playfield and give it a good look for any burned components. Same for the backboard. When turned on, I do not hear any solenoids lock on. If I load a ball manually, the game plays as should as far as I can tell. I will check back after I check for burnt components after work today.

Maybe it’s something as simple as the switch is disconnected or failed at that solenoid? Therefore the machine does not know that there is a ball sitting there ready to be ejected. It’s a micro switch that you can press down by hand to see if it clicks or not.

Quoted from gjk715:

When I go to test switches, probably half of them say short the other half are either open or closed and appear to work normally. Some of the switches flashed open/shorted. The switch that registers the ball that is about to be ejected in the shooter lane works.

Which makes sense according to the matrix. Also why start button doesn’t work either. It’s part of row 3. Red shows the faults. Green shows all good

Quoted from gjk715:

Also, I did not notice any burned components right away, but I know I have to do a more thorough search. Any idea where I might find the problem
component(s) or is it a matter of "anywhere"?

I’m learning about this stuff little by little also, so someone else will have to chime in with more expert advice. Your main problem is a ground short which is what the test report is telling you. Where to start looking I am not sure

What manny is saying is to pull J208? This is what corresponds with the matrix

I used this stuff. No etching and ball smells very pleasant afterwards

Quoted from Jason_Jehosaphat:

Hi.
Pulled my upper PF in my effort to troubleshoot the magnets.
Hoping to find something obvious under here but, alas, no such luck.
What are the odds that the current disruption is here and not farther up stream?
How does one intelligently troubleshoot this PF?
Do I raise the main PF, reconnect the upper's harness, and then test voltage at the connector closest to each magnet? That will be awkward for sure.
The other issue is the probes on my meter.
They are shielded almost to the tips.
I will need to stuff them into the female 6-pin molex to measure the voltage.
Last photo below shows the connector for magnet portion upper PF's harness.
Not sure how much success I will have testing the mate with my probes.
Might have to fashion a test-specific connector with short leads.
I'm a bit lost here.
Ideas?
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

First off, you should be able to pull the ends of the probes off to expose a longer prong. All my testers do this so yours should as well

To test the diode you need to have meter set here.
