Alright folks, I’m going into the 3rd week of owning this game. I’m learning as I go. Thanks for the input everyone

I got some new opto boards on the way and a fliptronics board along with new flipper kits and coil (left flipper and right flippers are super weak. The ball barley goes past mid playfield on the left flipper side).

In the meantime I installed my color dmd as recommended. Wow!! That’s all I have to say.

This game is a keeper.

How to u set the clock I don't see anywhere that let's u set it in the menu thanks

#9803 3 years ago

Same question here.....

#9804 3 years ago
Quoted from atg1469:

I recently purchased a TZ and overall the game plays pretty great, but the more games I've put in the more often I've had an issue come up with the ball getting hung up in the piano trough. Every time it gets stuck its just resting on the inside right hand side of the trough and I have to take the glass down and nudge it into the hole (the game can't find it otherwise). It's tough to get a pic of but I did my best to capture what's going on. Still, I have no idea how to correct this issue, any thoughts?!
[quoted image]

My bet is that’s the wrong type of post and/or fixing underneath. I had all sorts of fun getting mine out, because it was threaded and wobbling/loose, then replacing it to avoid any protrusion under there as it’s an obvious ball trap.

I replaced the post and t-nut - both knackered & threaded. i *think* it's a 02-4195 Mini Post with #6-32 T-Nut thread, but do your own homework if required.

Your washer looks slightly larger than the one in my TZ. I have never had a ball stuck there. I would check your level side to side.

Quoted from PinballAir:

Same question here.....

Set the system time (menu U:4).
Decide what style 24hr vs am/pm (menu A1:22).
Decide if you want the DMD to show time in attract mode (A1:24).
Decide if you want the mechanical clock to show time in attract mode (A2:32).

Note the system time won't run when the game is switched off if you use NVRAM - it gets frozen in time and only runs when the power is on.

Hey TZ owners ... I've been having a ton of fun making these new products, so here's one for you:

There are plain old original stock coin reject buttons ... then there are aftermarket coin reject buttons with flat 2-D patterns -- I'm taking it to the next dimension with these new 3-D Coin Reject Buttons!

TZ_RCP_1 (resized).jpgTZ_RCP_1 (resized).jpg

These eye-catching buttons literally pop out at you! They're 3D-printed with multiple filaments, featuring the ominous floating door from the show's opening credits, modeled so that a thin crack around the door's perimeter allows some eerie light through.

TZ_RCP_2 (resized).jpgTZ_RCP_2 (resized).jpg

Available on my website (https://rocketcitypinball.com) or in my shop here on Pinside (https://pinside.com/pinball/market/shops/1282-rocket-city-pinball/04833-3d-coin-reject-buttons-twilight-zone). (My daughter gets a commission too; these 3D buttons were her idea!)

Installation instructions posted in the shop listing. Note: please check your game before ordering -- this button replaces P/N 27-1037 button & 27-1038 cover. Some TZ games may have different buttons (e.g., reimports, swapped coin doors, etc.), so compare to my pictures to be sure this is the correct one for yours (button is separate piece from slot).

In addition to what others have said, it could be that the plastic subway's edge is not lining up with the edge of the metal scoop. (I had this issue after reassembling my TZ.) A couple ways to fix it if this is the case - loosen screws on the metal scoop and move it, or loosen the screws on the subway to align it better. Or, like in my case, I had to heat the subway up some and reform it. (My subway was a replacement, not OEM.)

[quoted image]

First: Note that only the last handful of TZ's off the line had an high-power interlock. (Your second switch there.) All had a 'Coin Door Open' switch.
Second: Without a better picture and context (where those wires go), there's not much we can do to help. That plug could go to: (1) Plumb Bob, (2) Slam Tilt on the cabinet bottom, (3) Start Button, (4) Coin Door Open switch. It LOOKS like it is a Green-Yellow, which makes NO sense because that color is PF only. The other one looks friggin' ORANGE, which makes less sense. With the connectors crimped to the end, it is possible they're the Coin Door switch (sw 22), but without tracing the wires and finding out, it's a fuckin' guess.

#9819 3 years ago

The guy I got it from had some switch he would unplug and plug back in I bought the cherry switches and braket it looks like those 2 wires are going to that plug in the picture

Switch should be normally open with door open and closed (like joining the wires) with the coin door closed.
Your current switch should allow that. One wire on NO, the other on common.

I joined the crew Dec 18th. Funny thing, i've played TZ a fews time in the past; and i thought the game wasnt anything special. Was I every wrong, this one grows on you like a fine wine. Gets better the more you play it.

Quick question. Back left corner by the gumball machine, most machines show 3 rows of flashers. Mine only has 2, missing the top one. With a clear piece of plastic over it. I figured someone removed it and covered. I've now gone through the machine several times (fixing all issues), but I cant find any wiring that would go to a third flasher. So what am i missing, and where would the third wire being sourced from?

Have another issue slot machine scoop so very very weak amd ever so often it will not come out at all the game will go into find mode firing all solenoids and after about 5 minutes ball will come dribbling out

#9850 3 years ago

If anyone has a need for a replacement mini-playfied lamp shoot me a message. I have a spare to part with. It is the standard stock model with bulb lights. Everything is still fully assembled and would be a simple plug n' play solution.
