My cab is generally really good besides the front panel around how coin door. Does anyone sell just a front replacement decal?

That would be awesome! I could also use just a front decal

Ouch
Quoted from BryanD:Somehow my daughter consistently manages to get the ball stuck on the skill shot. The ball just passes beyond the gate/flap, then comes to rest on the gate/ flap and sits in the groove for the skill shot switches.
Bend the flap up, bend the flap down, increase the playfield pitch... nothing seems to work. It is uncanny because with the glass off, it is rather difficult to release the ball by hand from the distance of the open flap and have it come to rest on the closed flap.
Any ideas on how to fix this? She can't beat my scores yet so I am not ready to tell her to stop playing.
I have helped (hasn't happened again in many plunges) the problem of the ball getting stuck in the skill shot lane, in the switch groove, resting against the gate/flap. After the suggestion from harig using a cliffy slot protector, I purchased one and spent too long over-engineering a solution to a problem few of us have.
I added tape to the inside of the flaps that insert into the slot, which made the slot opening narrower, reducing the width of the groove that ball comes to rest in but still allowing free movement of the switch. I grinded, sanded, and polished the leading and trailing edges to minimize the effect to a slow-rolling ball passing over the cliffy protector. I split the protector in half so that it could be set staggered, further minimizing the possibility that the ball could come to rest on two leading edges at one time.
Ignore the smudges and that crusty rubber...
IMG_20201012_174006 (resized).jpgI just received my decal set from ministry of pinball. Quality is good and they have the license holographic sticker. I noticed that on the backbox there are some difference. As you can see in the picture the door and shadow of the man is different and the ball near the door is more far away. Is this a graphic error or has some pinball shipped this way? Don't know if ministry print those or just resell this decals. The name of the file printed on the decal is in Italian language...

That’s an early run backbox. Does your game have any other differences like no flip heres, third magnet, early spiral signs (with decals) etc..?

Disagree - it's production art. It's just that it's faded so bad that all the red ink is now gone. I say this because I believe the sample games also didn't have any stars, and that does.
Finished up my restore this week. It’s a thing of beauty.

Oh good catch. Wow that’s a lot of fade, lol.
I still have to do the apron, I was only able to find the stickers. It will look better than whats there now, plus I have spent enough money on this project. So I am calling it good

I did a bit of searching. All original backbox graphics have the ball close to the door like in my faded (with bonus sticker ) ones. PPS some time ago made a repro set in which that ball is further away from the door. You can see it in this photo I took from this thread. In most of the decal set you find now there is this "error". They probably use that licensed graphic or they just copy it. I like them both ways but it's curios that no one ever noticed that

Restoration from 2017.
Quoted from Davi:[quoted image]
Very nice restoration Do you have more photos? In this the backbox decals looks right but the red glow on the side decal looks too big. I know there where decals with this mistake.
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:Damn. I’m thinking about selling mine as it doesn’t fit with the circular wireform
Mine's a little different, but cool enough to pass on the spiral ramp in order to keep it

Thanks, it's done by my friend. Clearcoat and protector - I know it's overkill for some.

TZ is a dark pin. LED GI, pinstadiums or other LED light strips help.

Not usually a fan of Pinstadiums and such, but TZ definitely does benefit from better lighting.
Quoted from Ashram56:Good morning
I will soon acquire a TZ (well once the lock down in France is over so I can travel and get it), so I would welcome a list of what you would consider as the absolute required mods, plus those that really add during game play
Many thanks!
Personally:
ColorDMD (LCD)
Invisiglass
German Pinball clock board
LEDs + LEDOCD & GI OCD boards
About 40-50 Pachinko balls in the gumball (half each side)
Gumball light from Pinbits.
Slot lockout cliffy
Rom v9.4
NVRAM
Beyond that it’s mostly nice to haves. Maybe some upgraded speakers too, but I haven’t done that yet.

And Compy's new interactive backboard display https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/new-mod-twilight-zone-interactive-backboard-display
Depending upon the condition of your TZ and then level of work you want to do, you may want to consider new cabinet decals as the original artwork wasn't UV protected and the quite often the red colour will be faded or even non-existent.
As to the mods that add during game play, this is probably only the 9.4H ROM and maybe the displays (ColorDMD and interactive backboard)
Quoted from Pinkitten:Anyone happen to have backup/extra plastics and could sell me one of these?
Thanks!

I have a complete set I believe. They are used. If you might be interested in some I can go through them and let you see The quality

Now that the Ingo clock boards have turned into unobtanium, does anyone have any experience with the other replacement boards out there? I was specifically looking at the Caspers Electronics board. Any thoughts?

What do you need to know? I designed it.

I had a caspers electronics clock board in my last TZ and it worked great the whole time I owned it.
Quoted from ramegoom:What do you need to know? I designed it.
[quoted image]
Does your design address the opto and other design flaws of the original board that Ingo's board design addresses?
The opto design flaw was due to inferior semiconductor materials used on the original 1990s components. Electronics have come a long way since those days. The adaptation of RoHS (non Pb content) has forced semiconductor design to accommodate higher temperatures for normal operation.
Current design opto couplers have overcome the reliability issues. Also, one of the biggest problems with the original clock board was the use of four socketed incandescent lamps mounted parallel to the circuit board; they collectively produced excessive heat which damaged the glass epoxy PC board material and copper traces, and prematurely aged the opto couplers, resulting in electrical failure.
That's all been prevented by the use of LEDs. This design uses 12 LEDs to evenly backlight the clock face, with minimal heat being generated. They have been in operation for years now, with near zero defects. The simple design is efficient, without the use of additional components and poses no issues with setting failure codes.

So my TZ came with a Rottendog clock board. It seems like the company takes a lot of heat on Pinside but honestly I have never had a bad product from them. I did notice that your board design has more LEDs installed. Is it safe to assume more light? I would like my clock to be a little more flashy if possible. Do you have a video of it in action?

The 12 LEDs blanket the light across the entire clock face, creating a very well lit clock, much better than the illumination of 4 LEDs - kind of matches the clock on the backbox graphic. Then I produced some variations on the clock face using mirror material, different characters, etc. I don't have a video, but could put one up. The clock face lights up nicely. White LEDs are the standard, but I have done other colors in the past. Blue seems to be a popular alternative.
