Hi !
Just getting started with a Twilight Zone restoration.
What type of led would be the best for this pinball(single lamps/kit).Don't want to use superbright as it looks too bright
Also,is it 5 balls installed + the ceramic power ball
Does the ceramic ball go along with the other balls in the chamber ?
Thanks for all tips.

Casper.

5 ball plus ceramic all in the ball return.

Yes 5 regular pinballs and one ceramic. Just drop them in the drain, behind the flippers, and turn the game on. It will autoload the correct number into the gumball. It doesn't matter where the ceramic one ends up.

LEDs I have no idea as I don't use them.

Led's are a very personal choice. I used cool frosted in the GI and color matched premium's under the inserts... looks great and it's not too bright. I may have used warm whites under the yellow inserts? Can't remember for sure And you will need some flex ones under the mini playfield.

You may want to try some frosted cool and warm whites and see what you like. Some like to color match to the plastics although I personally don't. I'd get a few or a sample kit and see what suits you.

I just did a restore on a TZ earlier this year... I used cool frosted in the GI and premiums in some of the inserts. Looks amazing. One thing I would suggest if you can find is a new set of plastics as it really makes the game look good. I'd also suggest a clear ramp rather than the smoke one, but that's just me.

Op-Max in the dark areas of GI, will brighten the whole game up...especially in the back.
Regular LEDs, if you plan on using Hergs OCD Board.
Optix, no flicker, no ghost, on the panels, if you are not using the board.
Non ghosting otherwise.
You can send me a PM or call if you need direct help.

I recently discovered using home rom 9.4, gives the option of loading 4 balls into the gumball machine. I now use six steel and one ceramic. I feel the game play is a bit better--waiting for that powerball. Lost in the zone is also better with seven balls on the table.

I like the Ablaze bulbs--buck each.

I have had the same TZ LED debate myself.

I can tell you that Art, aka OLDPINGUY, is very helpful via email and he even took the time to talk to me on the phone. I am going to order Art, I promise. I'm just waiting to get some new crimp connectors in, to fix a GI issue.
