I'm guessing that you have a short circuit somewhere. This happened on my BSD many moons ago. Turned out to be the ball launching solenoid shorting to the bracket holding it. Happened immediately before I could even plunge a ball.
Which fuse is blowing? Is it always when you launch a ball?

Have you loosened or move any coil around at all? Sometimes, you can put things back together and THINK you put it back together correctly, but a coil may be oriented wrong and making contact due to being installed improperly.
How long have you played a game w/o the apron on? 30+ mins? Asking to make sure it truly is "fixed" when the apron is off.
Something somewhere is touching the apron. Shorted wires, a coil lug, or a "chain" of variables that are interconnecting only when the apron is installed. I'm guessing it's the solenoid/coil that kicks the balls from one side of the ball trough to the other when a ball ends.
